Electric Car9 Oct 2019 00:22
Well, I'd like to think I am doing my bit for the environment. Going all electric in January. Government grant on a 7kWh house charger too. Costing £300 with the grant covering install etc. Car has a 38kWh battery so will cost me around £6.50 (assuming a 10% loss on the energy transference) for 150-160miles. Only about £80 a month saved in dirty fuel then...
If I had solar I could effectively use that to power it to some extent, bit not quite there yet.
Being 31, I really wasn't expecting to go full electric so soon. Funny thing is, it has all the same features as my leased Jaguar XF... Exception being heated windscreen (which is the only thing I shall genuinely miss)... Speed, and the not essential leather seats.
In the next two years I'd like to see a normal range in the 300-400 area for longer road trips and costs drastically come down on Tesla's... But can't see it Tesla's coming down, even though their batteries should drastically reduce.
