Good afternoon, It's very nice to see the sp rise today and close at 120p, all to the good................... Although the UBS holding were increased prior to the defence being filed, I suspect UBS were more than aware the claim by SGH was (shall we say) weak.
Hi shawrey, At the moment NO date has been set for the hearing. Watchstone have received a claim from Slater & Gordon, and then issued a defence. The "ball" in in Slater and Gordon's court. IMO this case may be settled "out of court" for I don't think it is in the best interests of either party. ATB
Hi all, I have been slightly unwell for the past three days, now on the mend............. Whilst I have not read the full document, I have read a four page summary and the senior management of SGH must be feeling somewhat sick and now considering if this action was prudent and if it should continue. If SGH were to withdraw from the action, then WTG should start there own action. GS you are quite possible correct about the SFO.............. Which doesn't mean RT can sleep easy................. IF not action by the SFO then YLF will not consider persevering with any action. I will be better in two days ............... but SGH long term and no recovery in sight
Hi all, As credit manager I have been involved in many court cases over the years............ (I wasn't a defendant), OK far smaller than this.............. But I can tell you there is no such thing a simple defence. SGH won't be happy - but their barristers will be delighted - it will cost SGH a fortune. IF THEY PROCEED
Yes TW will want to read it, also I suspect RT (for he may get a mention). The SFO will read with great interest (maybe be pertinent to the case!!).
I agree GS - it will be public very soon. So I am not paying, we have waited a long time - a few extra days won't matter
Hi Lindoser, Yep good to see a defense to the SGH claim, whilst I am glad to see a response, I wonder why at 16.30, still nice to see share price above 90p ATB DAR.
Hi Matt, Good to speak, I have been a long term shareholder in SN. (possibly 8 years) and have built up a very large holding, certainly the largest in my portfolio, I have shown below the reason for the increase. I have no worries on SN. and intend to hold for some time. SN. are currently ex div to be paid early November. ATB David Smith & Nephew shares were given a leg up in London on Wednesday on the back of speculation that US activist investor Elliott Management was building a stake in the artificial limbs group. The hedge fund has built a stake in the maker of replacement knees and hips, Bloomberg reported overnight, though it was not yet known how many shares the activist investor owns. Elliott owner Paul Singer typically takes a stake in a listed company in order to push for change, such as seen in London at BHP Billiton. But the reports said the plans for Smith & Nephew had not yet been made clear. "We do not comment on rumour or speculation and we do not comment on the identity of our investors other than those publicly disclosed," the UK company said in an statement emailed to reporters.
Hi AEM and GS, I agree the communication is much needed - plus the award from a few days ago. Both should help drive the share up. With regards to shares purchased or sold I feel somebody knows something .. but what I can only guess. ATB
That's the reason the police seem to be criminals friends................ I would not buy shares in the police... OK I know their are not listed (supposedly independent).
Hi GS, Many thanks for bringing the award to our attention. Cheers
Extremely unlikely. Watchstone have said that any capital return was deferred until the SGH have released the money held on escrow. If that happen it will after the resolution of the court case Slater and Gordon vs Watchstone. Therefore NOT 2017.................. How long is a piece of string......................
Hi Lindoser, Luckily for me the person I was referring to lives 1/2 mile from me. Met him about 4 years ago, within one hour I knew he was a tad unbalanced. But he was worst than that.... In September 2015 he accused me of stealing his camcorder. (I assure you I did not). So he started sending me texts saying if I did not return the camcorder he would put me in hospital. I reported him to the police... hopefully that would end the matter. But no -- one night he attacked me on the bus, he was drunk and screaming all sorts of nonsense, again I reported to the police, and after they looked at the buses CCTV time they spoke to him... And gave a stern warning, because they could not prove it was him. Was he finished - err NO. Then in December 2015 my car was vandalized (possibly 2am) again no proof but I reported to the police (no action). In January 2016, he again attacked me at a bus stop (not seriously) again I reported to the police. Eventually he was arrested and spend a night in the cells, bailed for 1 month whilst the police gathered evidence. After he bail period was up - the police told him to behave.......................... Further offences he would have a holiday. Since then he has "behaved", well apart from cutting down my Jerusalem Artichokes and driving his car pass me, whilst sounding his horn and giving a nice salute.................... My car is "protected" by CCTV, I am not going to get a CCTV on my Artichokes. Now when I see him, there is no eye contact and he walks by. I usually get on with most people, but I have since found out that this guy is well know around the area and has been banned by bookies, various pubs and even a church................. I mean how can you get banned by a church. Oh BTW this guy claims he is a guru as seventh son of a seventh son, plus he has a "hidden stash of gold" IMO a total fruitcake........
Hello Lindoser, NO the GURU is not a sector - he's a person but should be in an asylum for he lost the plot years ago............ I really didn't people like him existed until I meet him 3 years ago. Nothing but grief since.
cats are better company than mice...... Ahh so you have meet the GURU, neighbor of mine. Certainly not a friend Very true
(I was in the hay barn with my favorite mouser) Do you have to teach cats to chase (and catch mice). Yep - plenty of trades on WTG (very confusing). Hopefully stressed will not return under another guise
& 100,000 shares purchased at 16.52 today, I wonder about these late trades, why after the market closed ? and what will happen on Monday. Have a good weekend and don't think about it
Yes, you are correct it's a very long article and i must admit I didn't read it all (speed read) I have some funds in CTO and I feel this company have bags of potential for growth. Marginally disappointing that the sp remains flat(ish) and the daily trades are minimal. A dividend was paid today and the dividend was a good yield for a small company. I intend to stick with CTO for some time and I may top up from time to time. ATB
Hi Trurotrader (Rodney) yes it sounds familiar, however I have know the opposite to apply. It really does depend on the quality of the organic growth and acquisitions made. I am not saying the divi will not happen by not whilst TPG are in a growth phase, far too many potential headwinds to predict. Each year I say --- next year I will be a millionaire. ATB
