I agree. I think the share will react to what happens with the reopening from lockdown as a whole. Not just the cinemas.
If things go well. This share will go up.
If things go badly then it will go down.
At this point the data looks encouraging.

I loved this movie. Fortunately I have a home theater setup and got the cinema effect.
I'm glad it is doing well where it was able to open. I hope to be able to watch it on IMAX when the UK opens its cinemas.

Holidays abroad are still on schedule for June. It's the uncertainty that is hitting the markets.

He is the hero of the pandemic. He represented all that is good about the UK. A terrible loss to the country at such a bad time.
I cannot help but think why! I know it was a once in a lifetime trip, but there was a vaccine. He went away just as it was being rolled out.
It feels so unnecessary. He should have been first to get the vaccine. A month later he would have had immunity.

I've always looked at shorting as a spread bet.
Whover lends you the share is making commision. You have to pay the money back to the lender whatever happens.

I have never taken anything seriously on there but find the banter very entertaining.
Cannot ever see them taking interest in UK shares but you never know.
This Gamestop phenomenon has opened up a lot of questions about investing in stocks. Will be interesting how the moneymen look to gain back some control.

Another consideration are apps like google Stadia. You don't need a high spec PCs to play games anymore. Just a good internet connection.

If you like watching blockbusters for free. At least until the movie producers go bust.

The elephant in the room is that if you have that movie delivered to your house, you can very easily have it for free.
Great for the hard up public. Not great for anyone involved in creating that product.

They know that as soon as it is streamed it will be stolen and the world will have free access to their product.

Studios know that cinema is the only way to make serious money from a blockbuster movie.
When it shown in the cinema it is protected against piracy.
As soon as the digital stream is transmitted via the intenet it is stolen and studios lose a big part of their revenue.
Plus Cinema adds gloss to a product. Positive publicity is created.
Netflix, Disney plus, Prime, Hulu, Apple Tv or even HBO cannot generate the buzz that cinema generates.

Panic over. Nowhere near as bad as expected

It all depends on your setup. I have a home cinema system and streamed Mulan on opening night from somewhere , in 4k with DTS 6 channel sound.
I would rather go to the cinema as a family, but if the movie industry want to give free access to that sort of quality then it won't last long.

The SP has to fall doesn't it!
These movies will be watchd for free over here on opening night.
This was either an intentional move to kill off the cinema chains and maybe take over. Or complete stupidity from WB
