Buying teams near each other so making mates and relationships etc. Rather than that feeling of being “acquired” and having to be shown “how we do it around here” instead everyone’s in a new boat with a new office so should help that social transition

Following on from rag (correctly stated point) that the burton staff weren’t sure where they were going yet. And asos was leading the way by taking in Topshop. Again seems a bit not fully thought through as actually turns out we don’t really have a London office

But looks like being sorted and everyone will be peas in a pod I’m sure :)

But I think it doesn't make me wrong. The whole point rag raised as a mountain is actually only 6 people and isn't even the marketplace. Asos aren't vetting anyone for ESG on the marketplace at all. So long as you agree to not sell fakes you're good to go. Asos aren't even helping with returns which Boo are offering to do! - commission rate is 20% though - tasty

I accept his point on the example below and equally re Leicester and other parts of supply but his initial point re the market place and what Asos does re ESG on that is just fundamentally wrong or over exaggerated - it's 0

The reseller part? is only 6 people in total

Also when you dig a bit further these six people aren't vetting the marketplace they are only vetting ASOS.com

Below Asos say it’s the suppliers responsibility. If you read the page you’re saying asos just demand things but they aren’t checking a great deal. Want proof this quote (very first para on the page so not sure how you missed it)

“ The six members of our Third-Party Brands team support the more than 1000 brands sold on ASOS.com”

So for 1000 brands total headcount needed is 6! We can get 6 people in 20mins.

Even more so we aren’t doing thousands of indie brands but rather a handful of partners so likely already compliant businesses who can demonstrate these things

I think given the share dipped on buying three Arcadia brands I think this would be a big no (for now)

I’ve been a bit distracted by these in the past and while important it’s not an absolute. If you look at asos over 5 years on google trends it goes lower and lower and lower but we know sales have constantly gone up and up and up

So I think this is worthwhile to show who is driving “looking” but it doesn’t mean buying. After all we know as well that our browse to purchase rate is around 2-3%

I think the ace here for glencore is the restatement of the divi. Dunelm restated today and up 7%

If debt is also low that will be great. A rocket will go off if they give any hint about looking at spin-offs either coal or non-core mines

We got $1.5billion for a problem mine. 3 - 4 more of those and this baby is super lean. We could do some huge specials or invest into some ESG areas (I'd rather former as ESG is at such a premium i don't think we'd get value)

It shows that the £55m investment from boohoo may be fantastic. Best of all there is little to no stock impact so no working cap drag

@bruce different worlds. You take on a client you have to legally perform money laundering check and KYC etc. That's not legally required for boo. Also they don't legally need to know if something comes via the initial supplier or infact the supplier then subs it out

They are getting to that point but will take time. Guess it's similar to you having to KYV all clients at once. You would need a few months

@Pmor - yeah you're dead right. When i was chatting with the team at KKR they said the biggest let down for ESG is the focus on E and not as much on S & G which is as you say where Boo's problem lies

For years ESG has been a token thing. You used to see it as like a single page mentioned at the back of a 60 page IM now it's front and center. KKR and other top flight PE's are now specifically allowed to pay more for ESG
