@webba I think what you say it's broadly where I sit. There are a few on this board that share the view this is better in the US but again that is as we all know that the US will give a "tech" stock a crazy valuation

You're right the UK doesn't have many tech stocks that was why there was such confusion Hut came to LSE

I think your summary does give me some hope that the board isn't as "rag-backward" as I had thought as I do think the majority of us see this as a tech business and not a "rag trade"

Going to ibiza twice a year for "styles" will of course return but now boo can spot trends from insta or our army of brand ambassadors. Waiting to go to ibiza to spend 3 days to fly back and then tell everyone on monday morning what you say puts you a week behind. I fully appreciate that this was "how it was done" but that isn't the future. Again my "passion" here is that we are not a ragtrade we are a tech business

@keep how do you read these? Looking at trades is something I’ve never learnt or bothered with but the posts always seem to gather interest so perhaps I’m missing something. Could you give a quick insight? I’m not meaning this sarcastically but I do want to know a bit more on this

Agree splice. I think the US with Next will get it. The Times today placed them as front runners

There is so much money sat in US Private equity atm and US valuations are so much higher than the U.K. that on that basis it’s hard for them to overpay

Why is this professional analyst saying customers can be tempted by low prices? Rag said this didn’t happen and brand would drive shoppers! Is it possible we operate at the value end of the market where shoppers are price sensitive?

@ak I’d agree although I don’t see any real competitor to next that 1) had scale 2) provided that quality of clothing and 3) next provided credit to customers which is believe was less and less common but extremely profitable

There’s an article today in the Times about the Next ceo been there 30 years (trained as a lawyer and known for obsessive detail particularly around financials - the article quotes at investor presentations we presented a model on high street reducing and gave this to the analysts to play with)

It’s awfully odd how all the ceos seem to obsess about the “rubbish” I mention! Rather odd

@kaiser I think it’s 8 - 10 business days if you go on PLT website (top left corner change to US site) and under each product it has a drop down for delivery

Being fast atm is great but as everyone has nothing to I think this has helped Shein but back in the normal world I think this few days advantage will help massively however you can see the appeal if we can go US 2-3 days!

I know she’s only one person but we booked a holiday for may and there’s been packages arriving everyday. I hope this is common with most shoppers looking past the current lockdown and into summer. I think any optimism around holidays this year will be petrol on the fire
