Fleccy. I am not desperate to sell, just desperate to buy. I don't have unlimited funds though, or unlimited I.S.A. allowance. Do you just keep buying?

Share buybacks. After all those shares have been bought back, it will probably all start over again with another MBC share buy back. MBC. is the way vod borrows money, which it still has to do, unless vod sells off all its assets. It is a case of getting the right balance, between debt & keeping valuable assets, not as easy as some think. (Without the benefit of hindsight). P.S. Was fleccy joking with his post? or just showing off?

I wish I could believe Deutsche Bank's constant positive rating for vodafone, but they are in cahoots, as Global strategic telecoms partners, so Deutsche bank are very bias. Still, lets hope they are right?

Hi Trenners. Sorry, but I meant after 2 years you would hold about £30,000 of shares at todays sp. , so would pay about £45 a year for that holding . The following year you would hold about £45,000 of shares, so pay about £68 & so on. Of course if your holding increases in value more than this, you pay even more. DODL sounds good though for you, so good luck.

Trencherpilot. Thanks for that info. So the the 300 shares a week would cost about £195 a year, 12 x 9.99 plus £75. So about 2 months of divi's. Glad you have saved money though, sounds like you trade often, good luck.

Trenners. Thanks for that info. The problem with the article it did not explain. I, for example would have to pay £300 a year just to hold my vod shares with DODL, instead of paying nothing as with my broker & more if the sp goes up. DODL sounds ok though if you have a small holding, or day trade. Even if you buy 300 vod shares per week for 2 years, & the share price doesn't go up, you will be paying about £45 a year just to hold the shares, more of course if the share price rises & more every year as your holding increases. Always count your costs. Cheers & good luck.

Hi rob. £1.02 would be good in the short term..... H.L.'s minimum charge is 5.95 per deal if you deal 20 times a month, & they charge extra to hold shares in an I.S.A.. I pay a flat 9.95 per deal, however many times I deal, plus no I.S.A. charge with London south east. Most low cost brokers, charge monthly or yearly fees on top. I can assure you rob, that motley fool article, is complete nonsense, as most of them are. Cheers mate.

Hello rob. I am not aware of a £3 a trade I.S.A. with no other charges account but perhaps you could let me know? Even at £3 a trade, it would be £156 + £75 stamp. (over 2 months income). So not very good. It was a motley fool article by the way, so nothing new there.

Anybody with any intelligence can see what a load of rubbish that article is. It just doesn't add up. How much dealing charges would you pay on 52 deals of £300 each, plus all the other flaws in the article. Who writes this nonsense. I am very positive about vod shares, but stupid articles like this one don't help.
