Robleo. You are just stating the blinding obvious. So thank you for that Amigo. There are clearly some who just don't get it on here. Nothing wrong with buy backs if the sp rises afterwards. Just common sense, sadly lacking on this forum.

GLTader. Share buy backs do not increase the share price. Yes they reduce the amount of shares in circulation, so you own more of the company, but the shares bought back have to be paid for, so it roughly balances out. You have a lot to learn. As robleo said, you are deluded. Good luck though, because we both want the sp to rise, but I don't live in a fantasy world, you clearly do.

Fleccy. I am sure you are right, vod are obliged to buy back a lot of shares to cover bonds. So that is not returning money to shareholders. Personally though, I would love to see the sp take off, even if that means paying more for the buy backs.

Fleccy. I hope you are right mate, but how do you know we have hit rock bottom? If so, time to top up, but we don't really know, do we? I thought rock bottom was 70p. 80p 90p & upwards.

GLTader. So explain how vod share buy backs are giving money back to shareholders? The answer is they are not, & if you think they are you are being conned. Shareholders have to pay for the buy backs. The share price is falling by the way in case you had not noticed. You sum it up though by saying you can't fathom it out, so I will fathom it out for you. Buy backs do not give money back to shareholders. If the sp rises after the buy backs that is good, if it falls then the buy backs are bad. Simple. I am not against buy backs by the way, but they are not a one way bet. If the sp is being manipulated as you claim then we are all in trouble unless that stops. Vod shares are only worth what the market says they are worth unless you never sell them, & the real return on the shares is the divi, which has a habit of being cut. Of course I hope & think the vod sp will rise, but who knows. Good luck mate, we both need it.

Dividend max are the best. about 5.6% as fleccy stated. the confusion is that over the last year vod has reduced the divi, so over the last year the divi has been about 8.4% reduced to 5.6%. for the next year.
