Hello Rich. I just wondered if you could tell me what it said? Nobody has given a sensible answer to my post (ref stupid) yet. I don't mind being proven wrong, but I am still waiting. I will repeat my point, share buy backs don't cause the sp to rise, just prevent more falls due to dilution. Of cause the sp can still fall for many other reasons. That doesn't mean share buy backs are a bad thing. If you lot don't want me use that horrible S word again, any chance of you lot giving me a sensible answer? I think Nick is doing his best? Anyway, I am well impressed with Mikey this week, so perhaps a Mikey moan is due? I am going on holiday on Saturday, so you can have a whole week without my sarcastic posts? Mikey, you are in charge of the sp for the next week, so I expect, at least 1.23 by the time I get back?!

skid, I think you are the one who is showing "A real lack of knowledge here" As umeed says, The buy back for vod is similar to paying back debt. Perhaps you should read his post. I agree it isn't black or white, but all the buy back does is stop the sp falling due to dilution. Why do you say vod don't issue bonds. Of course they do, & then need to issue shares on conversion which in turn causes dilution. The problem is many shareholders expect the share price to rise every time vod buy back shares, which is not likely to happen. You should all read umeeds post, then perhaps every time vod buy back you won't all expect the sp to rise.

Ash Dad. My point was that buy backs are not supposed to show value by increasing the s.p. just to stop dilution. Perhaps I should call you King, if I am a prince, Dad?

Well, seems like I have rattled a few feathers here. So 1st perhaps , my choice of the word stupid was a bit harsh, clearly some on here are a bit more sensitive than mole-man, who just takes it all in his stride. skid says "Your reply shows a real lack of knowledge here-I think this is demonstrated by the fact you think they are issuing bonds" So are vodafone not issuing bonds then? I thought there were, & the share buy back is to reduce the dilution effect of the bonds, not to increase the s.p. just to stop it falling more than had they not bought back? I think you need to be a vodafone accountant to know if a buy back is wise, so I think Nick Read could be the right man for that? I would really appreciate it if someone on here could advise on this subject, but not just a Knee Jerk negative response please. We are all a bit cheese'd of with the sp, but a sensible, factual response would be good? Thank you.

What part of share buy backs don't have a positive affect on the share price don't you get?? It has been explain'n over & over again, just pay attention? Vod share buy backs are needed to negate the negative affect of bond issues. What planet are you lot on??? The only thing that is pointless, is you stupid post!!
