could be clearer too. We sometimes see gold sales or gold produced. Comparing GCAT to SHG is interesting particularly the way they report their results e.g. Q3 results for SHG (given on 26th Oct) show 217108t milled at an average grade of 3.18g/t with 88.0% recovery which gives 19536oz (a gold ounce being 31.1gs). SHG quoted 19532oz in their RNS, so pretty much as they said if you do the maths. Now try that with GCAT Q2 results. If you use the following from their RNS;
'A total of 58,722 tons were processed through the plants for gold production of 746 oz of gold during the quarter (1,266 oz Au in Q1 2022) down but in line with the strategic plan.'
746oz equals 23200.6 gs, divide by tons and I get a gold grade of approx. 0.40 g/t. Recoveries quoted as 49% would give gold grade 0.8 g/t.
Then from Q1 RNS;
'54,121t of ore (versus 51,732 tons in Q4'21) was processed at an average grade of 1.75g/t Au, resulting in gold sales of.1,226 ounces - an increase of 17% on the previous quarter sales of 1,047 ounces in Q4 2021.'
No % recovery quoted and mentions sales of 1226 ozs (38128.6gs). So, 54121 x 1.75 = 94712 gs or 3045.4 ozs (at 100% recovery). This suggests approx. 40% recovery.
Is it deliberately confusing or is this down to the commissioning / setting up of the HL pads etc ? GLA, Dan
