I think the clue to the issue is by looking into BP and Shell and all the majors accounts and strategies regarding large-scale projects that span 25 years plus appraisal time. But the good news is a discovery will shoot the lights out before falling again.

Agree Tobin. For me I could do with a nice pie chart showing sector allocation as this is no longer an "Energy" holding what with plant nutrition and decarbonization as much as O&G. This makes it hard to value but oddly still attached to the oil price. Suppose I could create a pie chart myself. One to hold on to extreme weakness and it often has relatively short periods of that.

Regardless of the great performance driven by the sector, the discount is so wide any major holders wanting to make what can only be described as a massive gain will vote to wind up the company. I would simply increase the share buybacks and begs the question why are the buy backs not working.

Tom, just PI and MM setting a fair price based on the global gas price tanked today along with warm weather in the US forecast for the next few weeks. Some China news can swing things in the opposite direction.

If this is a hangover after a dividend then that should be fixed with more frequent payments. I would welcome this as would many.

I was doing a comparison to some Brazilian shares but got wrongly confused as they are US-listed but based in Brazil and have taken a position in IBZL today on the Petrobas news I actually think is a good thing. Good to see the PAF price move up from its lows and technicals look a bit stronger.

This is not the case. Are central bankers able to make the right calls on the economy? It is often the clever people who are so self-confident in themselves (typically men and I am a man) that fail.

Saying all that, small Canadian wells that can be spun up quickly is where the money is and not expensive offshore wells that have no future beyond 2050. Why 2050? Well if you look at the strategy of big oil companies it is all about extracting money from existing assets through buybacks and dividends and not developing many if any large oil projects that span over 25 years where there is no future. Gas may have a longer future. Whatever happens, I3E Canadian operations are incredible at this price and hope the share price does not rise because that then begs the question... is there anything better?

Before jumping in and saying NR303 is NOT needed for trading because I3E is listed in the UK, is the form still required to save any TAX on dividends? Ken you are right. This is true for all shares I believe having done some digging. So our dividend yield is £0.00869 a share. Does this mean we need to subtract 20% so 0.00869-(0.00869*0.2) = 4.2% dividend?

There is the possibility that SP going down is some inside information on this Mintails transaction with the liquidators. As a new investor, I am impartial and likely benefit from this fall. Blyvoor Gold Surface Tailings looks promising. There is too much good stuff in PAF there should be a re-rate with a dividend hike.

Hi again Gav, thanks for the heads up on 250k production increase target I did not know that. I bought in ahead of research due to price. Hope they upgrade it prudently. I bought around 7p where you bought in I think but sold 17p and maybe in 20's. More luck than skill back then. iii forum rings a bell? This time I can actually read a balance sheet and understand investment phycology and the macro environment. Still can't type in English very well! We are entering a tough period globally and investors are wanting dividends. Some are wanting to get away from crypto now that they realise they own nothing. Higher rates are a bit of an issue for the POG gold as there is no yield and this is where PAF come in. I think Centamin actually pay a good dividend too but their share price is going up too fast. Can't believe the SP here is actually going down. I will continue to add in small chunks every day and I see a seller in the trades for which there must be a buyer at these levels.

We know this year's net cash balance was US$161.6 million, an increase of almost 40% compared to year-end 2021 and remains debt free. So JSE can buy if needed but once the SP recovers on production you can then see the potential for growth on top of that using the cash it generates. The dividend at these levels is OK but this is not a dividend play like I3E until there is long life-producing assets. The potential is there and I guess we have the ammo for it all.

(Just a reminder) to set dividend re-investment on your platform if you have not already done so and don't need the income. Anyone holding the major US oil companies (many do via SPOG etc...) should consider selling them for better value lower multiples like this or BP and Shell (via ENGY for example) or here. Anyone buying JSE should see strong rise even after good news but should de-risk. Obviously its all up to you its your moneym its just I have been around a long time and selling risky assets for safer value plays should save you a packet if the market mean reverts back down again.

Hi Gav, you must be around these gold miners for over a decade. I've changed my name. I had taken part is past fundraising and now getting back in I wonder about the soon to be debt-free status and the possibility this will bring larger and more frequent dividends going forward. Gold miners have been terrible dividend payers when RIO, Vale etc... paid out over well over 10% this year. I am buying in here with the hope of dividend growth rather than large-scale expansion and this will bring something new to the gold mining market.

Whats you and you all views on the next move for PAF?

When combined with a rising share price it is concerning as negative news will bring the SP down. I did not see those larger trades yesterday as I don't have the time to be trading but some confidence from those is there. We know it MUST be repaired at some point and then news from construction and then eventual extra revenues... looking forward to the gas for diversification. Then dividends.

There were simply no sellers and virtually no liquidity to buy so it's just PI's pushing the price up. But I do hope for good news followed by a years worth of share price growth to catch up on!

Thankfully no news due for those playing a long game with dividend re-investment. Or for those still accumulating as there is not much cheaper of earnings and dividends on LSE. 30p is very possible but you are better off in other energy companies whose ticker ends in "E" like JSE or RSE.

Been reported that Natural gas output fell by more than 50% in Ohio and by more than 20% in Pennsylvania as the storm froze wells and equipment. This will be a blip but does anyone know if I3 Energy are impacted?
