Lets say it bumps, then they open up the bookings system in the UK and it provides further stability and support at that level. As soon as they open in the UK they will start bringing in more money from Unlimited Cards. They also can furlough staff dynamically and the VAT rate is down enabling a further uptick in profit. With the advanced booking system and limited availability they can gauge demand better.
Yes 75% is in the US but if they aint open and they have arrangements in place, which Mooky has said they have, so they don't pay rent...it's money in and away we go.
The UK is stable, the EU is stable, it's just US.
The options that the studios have is, go straight to VOD and lose money. Release now, start earning, holding a longer theatrical window while the US catches up. Release later and have a longer theatrical window because of social distancing.
I would say let the US wait while EVERYONE else gets to watch the movies, it's money through the door and effectively free marketing for the studios via social media for a US theatrical release. The studios need money like the rest of us.
Your drop / entry point might happen, it might not.
Who really knows. I'm holding.
