Yes it looks like the 1st tranche of $25m ( of total $50m) has been completed with 10.5 shares now in treasury following the buyback.

I fully share your sentiments and views on Tim Mc Carthy..after 8 years here and a large amount of money lost or so it appears at this moment.
Is there one final twist to come or is Immupharma finished?.

I have maintained that once Zohar showed her hand with the Nektar proposal, Puretech was effectively in play.
Some big corporate action in Pharma today on Wall Street which could explain rise.

I am aware of this fact but if Immupharma was taken over it would become a wholly subsidiary of a parent company to protect patents and losses forward et al.
Clutching at straws, I know, but I am currently holding on to the wreckage of my broken dreams!

If the FDA approves the revised clinical trials ( P2 or P2/3) based on its own clear recommendations then Lupuzor and by association the P140 peptide programme has a value as a late stage drug (s).
It will only be of interest to a large player with funds and patience but that is what large Pharmas do.
Whether Alora wishes to go alone or via a joint venture with another Pharma is to be decided but Immupharma will not be involved imho.
The question is now much Immupharma will get for its assets but hopefully more than current 2.5p a share.
The FDA final approval should not take long and then we will know our final fate.

From a cursory review of the 2021 Financial Statements it appears Immupharma used £1.6m of the loss of c£9m regarding R&D credit to get tax refund of c £450k.
Good spot but still a lot of tax credits still unused.
I will look at prior years tomorrow.

Quite correct..25% Corporation Tax planned so value of possible tax losses is c£15m not £20m...Still a substantial figure.

I am a Chartered Accountant and you are a genius as being the first poster here to highlight the big elephant in the room...the enormous value of Immupharma's accumulated losses of c£60m which at the UK Corporation Tax rate of 35% have a significant tax advantage to any acquiring company including Alora Pharma as the tax losses can be set off against future profits in a successful future business.
Maybe Alora wishes to push through its European products sales via Immupharma but first it must acquire a majority or total control.
Very interesting as tax losses even as a cash shell could be worth c£20m to a profitable acquirer not to to mention all of Immupharma's joint patents and P140 therapies including Lupuzor et al.
I am not a UK tax expert but the US and the UK have a longstanding and robust double taxation treaty .
The plot thickens.

Also Alora could chuck in another £2 m in a private placement at 3/4p and bring its holding up to over 20% plus and appoint their Directors to the Immupharma Board giving Alora effective control.

Good points but one large flaw in your arguments and that is Immupharma will have no cash within 6/9 months and royalties could take 3 years or so IF Lupuzor is successful.
Immupharma is toast imho and Alora is ready to pounce if it wishes to do so.
It is now a matter of price and for Alora to determine the risk/ reward after receiving FDA go ahead.

If you can see one reason for Alora using Immupharma to organise a distributor partner in Europe for Alora medical products, then you are a wiser man than I am.
Why interject a middle man ( Immupharma) to secure another middle man ( European distributor) to sell products.
Unless it is a small step towards integrating Immupharma into the Alora group .
The FDA should give clear guidance very quickly to Alira/Avion on a clinical pathway for Lupuzor as it will incorporate everything the FDA recommended in its letter.
I think once this is received and the way forward is clear both in terms of costs and time , Alora will then mop up Immupharma.
Alora had no problem raising $175m ( including earn outs) for parts of the Osmotica business including manufacturing facilities in Georgia so getting the funding for a clearly defined FDA approved trial P2 or P2/P3 for Lupuzor and taking in the rest of world rights plus other Immupharma P140 Therapeutics may not be too onerous particularly if Alora do so in a joint venture with another established US pharma.
But they won't be paying over the odds for Immupharma now that they have them over a barrel imho.
Hopefully at a price higher than 3p !!!

Appalling rubbish to suggest Immupharma could market Alora's products in Europe with a staff of 6/7 head office staff..Alora could organise a distribution agreement themselves no problem.
Total bull and typical McCarthy but it can takes years to set up a distribution network in Europe and very strict laws on marketing pharma products unlike in the the US where you sell any old crap without proper regulation.
