Me and my big mouth!
Not really, but the market is down in general so far today; this has only dropped slightly more than others. I know that some disagree, but I think the uncertainty surrounding the new CEO and her revised strategy is not helping at the moment and the sp will continue to drift down for a while. It is a matter of opinion as to when it will recover; I think that it will take quite a while, but others disagree. I bought at 1700 recently (met my criteria) and sold at 1600 when the sp failed to go in the direction that I had thought and my limited charting experience had suggested. This coincided with the CEO change and what turned out to be a temporary market downturn (poor timing on my part!). I will remain on the sidelines for now. All the best DK
I hope that you are right 4000; missed out on the divi, but sold to limit my potential loss. Fundamentals look OK and it may be a quick turnaround. As you say, we watch with interest; I certainly will be as there are many good things about this company; I am just not certain regarding the new strategy. All the best. DK
Is there anyone out there? Invested a little here about a month ago when I had some funds come available. I had been observing for many months before that, but was indecisive! Nothing new there! Seems to have stagnated for a while now, but remaining patient and all indications remain good for a positive break out in the near future (IMO). Anyone got any other views? DK
I'm with you! Invested a month or so ago after considerable research and a change in direction regarding my investment portfolio. Done well so far, as expected. No drama, just solid performance. Long may it last! DK
Unfortunately my patience has run out. I really can't see this going anywhere in the short term. Investor communications are abysmal regarding research progress and results. There is just nothing to be found that instils any confidence in the company. No doubt I will miss the sudden rise in the sp, but my funds can make me a little elsewhere. Disappointing. DK
I agree with TL. A very difficult call. Recently invested here and came out with a small loss - disappointing as the signs were good. I would think that a period of a few months consolidation might be on the cards. What follows is a matter of opinion, but I am not too confident. Plenty of competition in the drugs research business and I am not sure that he direction that the new CEO is advocating is correct. I will be staying away and observing for a while! DK
Sounds like you did very well. Out for now, but fully intend to get back in quite soon (tomorrow?). It seems to me (IMO that is!) that this one has a lot more upside in it yet, particularly when you look at their recent growth and in what areas they have new contracts. However, it might be a bit more steady than today! Best of luck, whatever you do. DK
I agree! I have been in and out of this one for quite a few years and been lucky when I have traded (it won't last!). IMO news on the progress of their current projects is well overdue. I have found nothing of interest on the website or anywhere else. Other than Director dealings and Board changes, there have no updates since February when some rather indifferent results regarding the ongoing research caused the share price to virtually half; a major over-reaction IMHO. The sp continuing drift seems to be on the back of no news and very small volumes. No idea what might have caused the recent activity to below 8p. I remain invested but patience is running thin! DK
You are not the only one. News is a sparse commodity when it comes to ETX! It must be one of the least volatile shares around. Maybe we should be thankful? However, an update on the scientific stuff must be well overdue; we can only hope and be patient. Good Luck. DK
Hi Jason, I bought in here and Redt about a month ago after researching the renewables sector fairly well. IMO there is plenty of room for growth here (and across the sector) despite the recent rise, but I don't expect it to be quick or spectacular. I am very much a LTH here. I am also keen on renewables, but do not necessarily agree with all the doom and gloom mongers regarding global warming. The share price here has held up well after the rapid rise, again giving me some confidence for the longer term. No facts and figures offered, but hope this helps! DK
A bit tedious at the moment. I call this share "yo-yo", as it drops at open, drops further during the early morning and recovers to its original position by close (usually). As a LTH I don't really mind, but it is strange, to say the least. DK
Yes, just read it; I thought that it might be some scientific news! However, as you suggest, reducing the number of managers should allow more cash to be diverted to the research and testing activity. I remain hopeful of a breakthrough in the not too distant future that will have a positive impact on the share price! DK
Thanks very much for your views and the information. I certainly intend to "hang in there" with my investment, not least of all as IMO the science has potentially good value and my average is only a little way above the current share price. Lets hope for some good news along with the half year results next week. DK
I recall seeing somewhere that there is an announcement or update from ETX due on 20 Sept. Can anyone confirm this, or did I dream it? I have been in and out of this share (quite profitable) over a number of years, but it seems to be completely stagnant/drifting at the moment. A bit of research shows plenty of ongoing work, but few results to talk of. Positive news, or any news for that matter, would be welcome. The change in CEO seems to have made no difference to either research progress or communications with investors. All a bit disappointing at the moment. Any views?,
