Hi Falling, fancy meeting you here! I thought that I was destined to talk to myself. No big issues with this one really, recovering nicely and I think that it will continue (based on previous characteristics!). I was a bit lucky selling when I did as it is difficult to judge this one's behaviour, not least of all as the normal volume is so low. Not familiar with mondi, (will have a look) but it seems that increasing cost of raw material for paper production is an issue. No funds to get back in at the moment (stuck in the higher risk part of my portfolio!) but hope to do so well before the interims in November. I see that GRG still going along OK. Got a few in JE. as well and they seem ok. Hope you are doing well with yours. Regards, DK
Very good update today. Somebody in the Co. obviously paying attention to the share price. Await the November Interim figures with interest. Will probably get back in soon. DK
No, I didn't realise that either. As you say, it seems like a very good idea to use UBER. I have no idea how long the trial will last - probably a few months. The retrace in sp is expected and not at all worrying. Like you, I expect this to continue rising in the next few weeks towards mid 13s or 14. Here's hoping! All the Best. DK
Despite some research I cannot fathom why the sudden and substantial drop. Sold my small investment at just over 18 with a 5% profit, so rather pleased that I acted quickly. I will have another look at this in a few days time, as it could be a good time to get back in. Fundamentals still very good. No company announcement due, but maybe one will appear following the sp drop??? DK
Good to see GRG trialling a delivery service in Newcastle up to a mile from an outlet for a 2-50 fee. Another indication of progressive management IMO. Hope that it is successful as I am just about within a mile of the nearest Greggs! DK
Afternoon Falling. Thanks for that. Sounds like a good possibility and 7 or 8p a share would not be sniffed at! All the Best DK
Hi Falling, just a query about the return of cash. Has this actually been announced or are you "reading between the lines"? I certainly can't see mention of it anywhere. In any event, thanks for your thoughts. As a relatively new investor I also learn a lot on these Boards. I may start contributing a bit more when I have something useful to say!! DK.
Hi Falling. Yes, an excellent RNS. My original decision to invest here was based upon some fairly in-depth research and this news confirms the really good ambitions and management of the company. In addition to the good figures, I really like the success of the forecasting and replenishment system, the increase in the number of outlets and the seasonal menus; all good stuff IMO. The "headwind" is noted, but I don't see this getting any worse than it is now over the next 12 months. I may be putting some more here soon. Thanks for your excellent posts here and on some other sites, where I mostly observe! All the best. DK
I agree that this is a difficult call. I haven't got all that much in here. but sitting on a tidy profit. Been pouring over the charts, earlier trading announcements etc. and can't find anything that I don't like. As you say, it has been a steady rise. IMO news of "in line with expectations" may cause a temporary drop, but if previous patterns are repeated, this will then continue to rise. Mmmmmmmm! I will probably hold on and risk a little as I am doing OK elsewhere; not a good rational, but slightly better than tossing a coin! DK
Next update not scheduled but last year it was early November. Takeover rumours are (IMO) just that. No concrete evidence that I can find. Low volume today and sp still below the 20 and 50 day moving average; likely to move up slowly over the next couple of trading days, I think. IMO the drop was due to some people taking their profit; it also seems possible that other companies are "catching up" FEVR. A number of them are now producing "premium" mixers. Maybe the sp rise will slow a little compared to recent months? Guessing really, but I don't see 25 anytime soon. I remain in for the moment and I don't think Christmas makes a huge difference. Hope I am wrong! DK
The drop today looks quite dramatic, but there is no huge increase in volume and no bad news that I can find. IMO just retracing a little from the really rapid rise in July. Not sure that there is much support at 21-50 but it does seem to have quietened down around there. I nearly took my profit about a week ago, so I suppose others have done so today? I think that it is likely that it will go back up a little tomorrow, but no trading update expected until early November, so will probably sit tight unless we see the 20's (unlikely IMO). DK
Clearly not! The news regarding the coffee cup recycling project with Selfridges looks to be an excellent opening to enlarge this part of the CRPR business. Recent national news items have highlighted the waste associated with disposing of coffee cups. Personally, I see little attraction in sitting outside a coffee shop drinking coffee from a "paper" cup having just paid a vastly inflated price compared to making it home. However, I am in a significant minority who hold this view as many millions of cups are chucked every day. I think that I will be investing more in this company. DK
There is little doubt that this is an excellent (premium!) product. The recent rise in sp has defied variations in the indexes and advanced steadily in a most unusual (IMO) and orderly manner. I can only think that the figures announced a few weeks ago are sinking in to institutional buyers, although the volume of trades remains strangely low. I can see no other reason for the rise and I don't see any sign of it abating. The pattern on the chart is somewhat similar to that which commenced in October last year when I bought in (although a much steeper rise). Long may it last! I do somewhat agree with IK that any comparison with Coke is a little hard to justify, although I get your drift Phoenix. A lot of my friends are also now buying Fevertree rather than the more traditional mixers, despite the higher price. It seems to me that selling the product to large companies, such as Virgin, has been the key here and I imagine (hope)that others will follow. Anyway, I certainly remain confident that this will continue to produce us all some profit in the short-term. All the Best. DK
I agree that Woodford's judgement has been called into question recently. However, he still has a very good track record over a number of years. IMO I don't think we have seen the bottom yet. The share price is pretty well tracking the index and I think that it is vulnerable to a further drop whilst some uncertainty remains regarding the overall direction of the Company. I remain out until the signs are a little better, but I wish you guys who have recently bought good luck. Having said all that my recent track record with this particular share is pretty poor!! DK
Extremely low IMO (hope that I am right!). I get your drift, but when I had chips at Rick Stein's they weren't cheap. However, these shares certainly are, particularly in view of the figures announced last week. Broker update this morning seems to have helped as well. All the best. DK
You could be right. I hope so! Anyway, whatever the reason, really pleased to see it, particularly as I had a bad day elsewhere (like a large number of people I suspect). All the best. DK
Whoops sorry about the FG!
Hi FGalling, One broker upgrade today (Berenberg) to 1300 and a Hold yesterday (Shore). Surprised that it has led to this rise, but really pleased! As you say a good solid share this one - not sure about bread and butter though, more doughnut and sausage roll. LOL. I think that this will go on up a bit more based on the recent interim results - however only IMO. As always we will all have to wait and see. All the best. DK
Hi Poker, My view was that it was going to continue on down - it did for a while but then bounced back up a little. Anyway, it sounds like you made the right decision when selling at 1715 and I made the wrong one when buying. Such is life, we all make mistakes. At least I made the right decision to sell at 1600! I am not suggesting that the CEO will not get things done in her own way, nor that she has done anything wrong, but the temporary uncertainty that changes in strategy bring can cause nervousness. We all await with interest, but in the meantime I will remain on the sidelines and put my funds elsewhere. All the best. DK
