@Lawrence13 Writing as somebody with family in Russia, Crimea and Ukraine (Donbass) those grievances you mention work both ways. One part of the family did well under the Communists whilst the other were imprisoned (ten years in a Siberian Gulag - she was sixteen years old!). The family members living in Ukraine and Donbass have suffered immensely under the Ukrainians. In 2015 a female family member was killed by a mortar round... along with two other passers by walking in a Donetsk street. So, trust me there is no love lost for the Ukrainians Holodomor or not. Ethnic Russians also died in famines... were also exiled (Some of my lot were sent to Chelyabinsk Oblast and also parts of what is now Azerbaijan. God knows what they did.
As for blaming certain sections of the population and perpetuating that hate well, I would point out that it was the Communists who caused much of the hardship and fear. Blame who created the Communist ideology... blame them! And while we're at it I would point out that Stalin or should I say Joseph Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili was a Georgian.
I've kept my counsel regarding these boards on LSE. I've seen the rabid anti Russian sentiment rise to an incredible level. The amount of pure anadulterated hypocrisy surrounding the conflict in Ukraine is quite frankly outrageous. The lies and propaganda spewed out of the main stream media and newspapers... certainly in the UK is something to behold.
As for the current crisis, blame the boys and girls who work out of Langley AND blame Victoria Nuland and the Biden clan. They have blood on their hands more than even Putin or Elenskiy.
As for my family on the ground, in Crimea they have a proper water supply again but Donetsk still gets shelled but not as regular as before the war/conflict/invasion/special military operation... take yer pick depending on your point of view.
Lawrence I mean no personal offence to you.
