One thing he misses, but its not the point of the example, when they are both exactly 30 years of age, she has £50k invested, he has £0.. So the year (age 30) her balances increases by £3.5k, and his £5k plus some interest..maybe £200-£250..
I think it was £5k per year, so assuming that to make it easier..
But if he self managed, investing in stocks and made 7% twice a year, while contribute £5k annually he would clear £1m
I can't find a calculator to work it out but I suspect its a lot more, maybe £2m, as thats equiv to 14.49%
If he put in £5k 1st 3 years, +£850k
