Volumes traded have been so much higher last few months, obviously buys and sells equal but due to the decreasing share price indicates someone selling a considerable sum and folks like us buying them up where we can.... Change of ownership behind these volumes... To some minor degree at least

Wonder what Jeremy's opinion on the company is now, excellent interview on YouTube, completely share his opinion that buying back considerable chunk, say 50 % of the Co would be a fantastic move, like a cheap acquisition, it's all about financial engineering here

Slightly off topic but serica now has an incentive to operate slightly in efficiently, better they spend the money in the company than give to the government. Jokingly, they could up wages to employees, pay themselves improved salaries and it'll reduce the tax. But sadly cash flow too.. I joked once they should put all shareholders on the accounts as employees and let us get our cash that way... Not serious tho.... They've more or less nationalised this domestic industry, but where is our compensation??? I'm well annoyed how much of my serica cash flow being stolen for want of better word

The great thing about the harbour deal was when they issued equity it was issued at the value of 360p, great that they did that, gave such a pump to the share price, if we need issue equity hopefully we could do the same and issue at a substantial premium

Tony, ref your question, I think there is a high chance the div will be cut. If you watch their presentations they clearly state the div is a second order of importance. It may be maintained for the next chunk, but eventually it'll be cut, ref investment, buyouts etc. I bought considerably more with this in mind, factoring in a 12p or approx 10% yield going forward at some unknown point d. I'll take that plus prepared for a 20 to 30 pc share price rerate...

Thank goodness Offshore energies uk pointed out the potential lower tax take as a result of proposed changes, maybe that'll make them rethink the capital allowances and the 2030 end date for the levy.

Folks don't worry too much about politics, as someone most learned once said, labour and the tories are both just cheeks of the same ass.... OK our sector is going to be hit bad (already happened pre election) but overall economy will still expand, gdp will grow, wealth will be created. Stay diversified, find the trends, stay employed (where applicable)

I read in a recent presentation that this year's capx will be around 190m dollar, I'm not overly sure the split between routine running costs and capx that expands production.. Would I be right in thinking this will just help maintain production in the 40k per day range rather than expanding? If that's the case it almost seems more of an operational cost.. Looks like it adds on an additional 10 dollar a barrel to opex, mostly deductible which will help lower this year's tax thankfully

Any technical analysts, chartists have a few on where the share price may rebound to from where the share price chart is?

im more of a fundamental investor myself but definately make use of charts when making investments. i realise this share more likley to be driven by fundamental changes but views appreciated -- must be some positive catalysts in store for us. i see we are near 70% down from the all time high and ive often made successful ibvestments in this area, albeit most of my serica bought at around 200p.....

Londoner, i believe the free cash flow was closer to the 111m fig you mentioned so near 27p a share, im not sure what the forecast is for 2024 & 2025, good chance similar to most recent accounts -- others will know better & all subject to the unknown future

They need to just shove all their capex through as annual expenditure, i see many businesses do it in my work , but they seriously need to get creative here, there must be a way and they must be working on it, they must be looking at various plans to preserve shareholder value -- i know if it was my business i would be doing this. ridiculous for the government to think they are entitled to 78% + of any profit, they need to compensate shareholders otherwise.

James your very confident in the following weeks share price, that's not a bad thing I guess, however with serica its hard to guess, if it rises my investment shares will recover slightly and trading shares may show a gain... However it looks like may be in this Co to 2030 or the end of the epl, long old wait but let's see where we are end of next week, here's hoping
