Gosh this share has become a bit of a play thing, coincidentally I was listening to an audiobook of traders and isa millionaires and one of the interviewee talked of losing quarter million quid on a hammerson trade in 2008, what a coincidence good ole hammy. History doesn't repeat but it rhymes as the saying goes....
Well what a couple of weeks it's been. To date been rewarded very well for holding and accumulating hmso. Likely one of my top trades / investments to date. But I did put plenty of research and thought into it. Well I won't say anymore as I know full well its paper profits and all but going to keep holding till there is a reason not too. Atb everyone
If earnings continue to improve, these should be worth 12£ a share, going to hold... I believe advertising will be key to the recovery of many firms and it appears the newish ceo is coming good on his word
Think they could have been a bit more aggressive with the share buyback, jeez that cash pile!
Haven't looked at my wpp in gosh maybe 8 months, nice recovery happend while asleep.... Metaphorically. Worth hanging on to or more gains to be had.... Just read last Rns looks encouraging
Out of interest I looked at the going concern statement in the previous years results released March 2020, gosh the board were a set of bandits back then, not a single word of worry and it all looked rosy, {despite being at the depths of the pandemic and maximum fear} what a bunch of con artists. That said this years was the exact opposite. I'm less worried now than then, I believe the rights issue was the game changer, plus lighthouse buying in. Morgan Stanley? Just out to make a quick buck... But I'm still happy to hold......

Lpd, I think your calculation is just net asset value divided by the share price, so it would take a 234% rise for the 2 be equal, but for sp to be 60% of net asset value we've a 45% rise ahead. But the net asset value might be a bit harsh {or 40% discount} this is bottom of the cycle asset prices perhaps, bombed out due to covid, brexxit and retail structural change... Asset values may change, perhaps also due to currency debasing and qe,
I noted that too, I'm going to compare last year's wording to this year's
But bear in mind in past 12 months lighthouse took a 20%? Stake and Morgan 10%
And do the banks really want all these sites on their hands? I guess not. I think alot of people will want this co to survive. Worst case scenario if it was broken up, the share holder may get back more than current share price {perhaps}
New portfolio valuation of 6388 million 82p net asset value, 76% of 2020 rent collected. Let's see how the market reacts..... 94% occupancy new rents agreed 10% below prev year... 100 acre land bank.... This sometimes can be sold for 1m an acre for residential but don't know how much they value it at
Nice to see a larger board following, looks like hmso on the radar of the wider community. As soon as the rights issue was noted as being successful handled I was pretty sure this would be one of the best recovery plays of the year. Good luck all,
