I was thinking the same, more flights increasing by the day I guess, but yes an up day across the board. Sooner or later this is going to pick up properly!

What I'm really intrigued about is what will the new normal be in terms of working flexibly and what approach will organisations take when it comes to their staff travelling for meetings to different countries. What we've seen with the zoom meetings and Microsoft teams etc, there is absolutely no substitute for face to face!! I suspect businesses will rein in their spending for a while, but people will always travel, want to pay out for the luxury of a premium cabin and enjoy the finner things in life. There will always be a market for a premium product.

Loving this debate, I'm done working for this week!! Its not going to be an issue getting bums on seats as long as the Govt gives a clear and consistent message and not introducing things like Amber plus in the 13th hour. It's all about yield and how much each pax is paying. IAG need international routes to properly open up and get plenty of premium pax on their aircraft.

Combination of Delta fear still and US still closed to UK nationals. Once US opens fully, should be heading back. Also a choppy trading period at the moment so many stocks down, particularly in the travel sector.

I wouldn't worry too much, the US will have to open up at some stage and people who got in here at a good price or took part in the rights issue will have done well. I'm slightly under water but not too worried, long term IAG is a winner!! Certainly some mid air turbulence until the US opens it doors, but when it dies the structural changes that IAG have made will most certainly pay dividend!! Exciting times ahead and good to be positive, I for one can't wait to fly again and I'm sure there are many more out there!!

Morning All, I believe IAG always welcome competition, they have been quick to plug the gap left by Thomas Cook in Manchester setting up Aer Lingus UK, an established brand to fly to the US this autumn. Their AOC has now been cleared by the CAA. Will be very interesting to see the affect with JetBlue flying the route. I personally feel Virgin have more to fear than IAG and IAG have many brands to tackle JetBlue e.g. Level and Aer Lingus come to mind.

Will be interesting, I'm assuming EZJ took the opportunity to trim costs and improve efficiencies across the businesses it runs, so my bet is on a decent recovery here. My average at 7.50, will be holding longterm, very well run company I'm confident of a decent recovery will take time. People want holidays abroad and will always travel, the SP will recover, will be interesting to see how we compare to our peers such as RYA and WIZZ in 12 months time. GL All!!

Interesting post FTSE12, as others have said lots of variables in play. Assuming the worst is behind us with Covid, fingers crossed, more and more in the UK and around the world are getting vaccinated and hopefully no more variants that hit us as curve balls then it will be an ever improving picture. As we know it's not how full a plane is on its own, it's the revenue for the flight overall that counts. We need to have the right amount of premium pax and loaded with high paying cargo on key business routes to be making decent money. IAG will most certainly bounce back, I'm confident of that!! More people flying, more countries on Green and Amber lists and increasing population around the world getting vaccinated. It's got to be good news!! My bet is on a climb back towards 200. We do need US open to UK nationals and then the SP here will really start to fly upwards, at that point 250 mark. Until then hover in the 180 - 200 range I reckon. GL All!

Hopefully back up towards 180+, the real news will be when US opens up for UK nationals, then a big tick up. Never the less, more countries to popular destinations is still good news!! GL All!!

@Twedd17 - you need to adjust the precovid price to give consideration to the huge rights issue. I think that means pre covid price comes down to around £4.50 per share. Whatever way you cut it, there is still plenty of money to be made here.

Revenue and load factor. No good having a full plane at very cheap prices. Markets down generally today, hoping to see a good tick up here soon. A small top up for me today at 174. Once US open to the British, this will literally Fly!!

I agree sunsurfer, sorry I didnt have some dry powder to buy on the dips today, with the US open at least for the US travellers to enter Britain from next week, there's a partial opening on the transatlantic routes. Hopefully news confirmed soon on a full reopening. Onwards and upwards hopefully back to 180 levels next week. GL All!!

With the start of the school holidays reports alot of bookings are up, people want to get away and will do. Hopefully the start of the long road back to recovery!!

Covid will be with us for a longtime, as long as the Vaccines work and people get jabbed, hopefully start seeing a pick up in travel. Will be interesting on results day to see where we are at, I remain invested and no doubts IAG will survive and do very well. Its going to take time though.
