I agree Max - the issue has always been whether BT can maintain \ sustain the breakout we are currently experiencing. If this holds up above £1.50 for the next few weeks I see the price steadily climbing to £1.60 by Xmas.

Fibrelad, I don't think you will see a takeover, however, I can see a forced cull of the workforce now that Slim & Bharti are on board. They are going to want value for money and a slicker, streamlined workforce. This will come before a takeover because the company will look a lot more attractive to any potential companies wanted to buy in.

I agree breaking through is a given.

What we need is to hold out at £1.50 or above for a significant amount of time (weeks). All to often we take a big leap up only to see it fall back again and lose momentum. Lets hope the board keep feeding us some new news to keep up the momentum.

With Bharti on board and probably pushing to get his thoughts across to the board, means (IMO) we are back on a sound footing, other issues aside.

Hopefully we will see £1.50 end of week and if it holds for a few weeks upwards of £1.60 by xmas.

Mr Savage, I have little doubt you do your homework thoroughly. But - the rub is, all those macro economics don't necessarily mean that (BT) would also be dragged south with the carnage you profess.

Myself I am not necessarily overjoyed because we have been in this situation £1.45 - £1.50 very recently and the SP dropped considerably. I have said previously if it manages to hold @£1.45 and above for a few weeks then I do see a climb to the mid £1.60.
