For completeness, Mxc will wind up with final payouts. In the meantime, they’ll do tender offers and cancel shares as and when they sell something.

They’re a tardy bunch anyway. And unless things have changed much going ahead, and following their trading update, then it’ll be as was. They were optimistic for H2.
I know we’re anticipating something on debt, at least with Mxc with whom it was mentioned they were in discussion ( Smith talking to Smith ) But with their history, I don’t necessarily expect it now, though hope for it to put it behind us.
Generally, with the Mxc partners retiring, my thoughts more go to what they’re going to do with IDE. It doesn’t take me far, but with Mxc’s large cash investment and shareholding, and the partners can only get their personal cash on sale and through Mxc on winding it up, Smith, Wheeler and the concert party have a real interest in creating greater value.

Interest will lie in H2 so far, and outlook.

On dividend, though Wickes intended to start with 30%, the last we have is from the final results, where having announced the then current dividend, under Capital Structure Review they additionally said.
‘Alongside maintaining a strong balance sheet, we intend to invest our cash flow behind our high returning growth levers to support our continued market outperformance. We will balance that investment with an enhanced dividend payout ratio of 40% of adjusted profit after tax, with approximately one third typically paid as an interim dividend.’

Rather late now to hear anything from Kingfisher on trading before their H1 results on 20th. September.
 

I haven’t followed the other. But if you can’t expect best interests to be followed, all the thinking , guessing, rumourmongering, on here and elsewhere, is a bit pointless, don’t you think?

I see Alliance News has listed Wickes H1 results twice. Financial calendar gives 15th.

It would be in nobody’s best interest to sell huge numbers on the open market, even after a lock-in and if drip-fed. That I think, would be a last resort in any event. Private trades happen. One of the jobs of a broker, if it can’t be sorted between 2 or more parties.
Item 3 may also have a bearing, though there is no big deal to be made of that.

To be truly short, any borrowed shares have been sold. That’s open to debate. But the price is rising - buying pressure.

Actually, Kingfisher did buy 67000 yesterday. Missed a day for some reason.

Well there you go. No share buybacks yesterday. Only one day of course, Wickes up 1.6%, Kingfisher down 2.27 %.
Assuming there were no buybacks today ( we’ll know tomorrow for sure ) the same pattern. Wickes up 0.08%, Kingfisher down 1.3%.
Just an indication of how traders might view one against the other. A snapshot. Like my Saturday post.
Results 15th. and Kgf week after, perhaps resetting both. A difference may be that Wickes already downgraded expectations ( so far )

I agree with the general point on shorting. Too much emphasis on here. Comes across as excusing the share price. If the buying pressure was there, they’d be seen off.

Yes. I read that. Ggp will need funding. It seems it is working specifically towards that in terms of an Australian listing, having got Tribeca on board.

Is that a statement of fact, or opinion on an ASX cross listing ?

Brief mention today, inference of dilution.
What is the justification for believing a cross listing, said to be designed to facilitate investment from a ‘local’ jurisdiction and improve share liquidity, would be dilutive. Ie where does the suggestion of the creation of new shares in that respect come from?

I guess Kgf are between buyback tranches. If so, we might see how they go on without. Just in passing.

If you lot insist on comparisons - little point. All-time Ggp is up 222%. Omi is down 92%. Where next?

Unless the price of metals can be predicted at production stage and thereafter to a point when it becomes uneconomical, not worthwhile, it will have no practical effect on development plans.
