It is the intention of the Group, following the release of these interim results, to call a General Meeting in order to allow a share capital reorganisation, and to convert the majority of the outstanding loan notes into equity, allowing the Group to reduce the indebtedness of the to an appropriate level.

If you own one share, one vote, and nobody can take it off you in the UK. I’m not sure about the Americans though. You have to be careful with that when looking up source material, generally.

I’m not blaming anybody for selling, whoever they are. There are probably many in profit, perhaps substantially, who would make that choice at any stage in their investment cycle.

Mr. Day did the deals, with best endeavours, setting a price. At the moment, in my view, there is a seller or sellers in. Why it’s gone below the set price, sort of thing.

You won’t see this - but the aim was to at least remind of a few basics, to balance the incessant excusing of the share price, which in my view is no longer tenable on what is repeated as a manta.

Nothing wrong with the company, is there? Progress. Supported by Wyloo and all that. But, on price you can’t with justification get away from basics, can you? However hard you try.
Greater buying sends price up, greater selling sends it down, and the price tends to be a pretty good indicator of how the market sees it. On the other side, Ggp employees have incentives related to the price of the shares, at a future time. They want the price to go well above that for their own benefit. And shares are like cash. Ggp has used shares as currency in deals. When Ggp raised money from the market, the share price was the basis for establishing how much the market should pay. They relate to that when publishing details.

I suggested a while back that this is far more likely to do with seller(s) than a paltry O.5% short. Coupled with insufficient buyers. That suggestion was rubbished. And contrary to what was said my own research indicates there was at least one holder at one time of a 3% holding. Where one, perhaps several. But I leave it there.
