I see you've been a very regular poster since May and I guess eight months is a long time. James has been posting on the bby board for years and he and I have experienced and felt the pain of the roller coaster of earlier years: We also enjoyed some fun times along the way. At times like this I like to touch base with old friends such as James, Wolfie, thistle and Netley. No offence meant to you or any of the current bby posters.
I must confess I thought the sp would have dipped to the 200p level. I keep refining my thought processes and by and large things have gone well but as we know the market can be fickle and there's always the ones that get away. I was annoyed bby was one of them especially as this board held my attention. I keep an eye on things but with the key indices being relatively high I didn't feel sufficiently confident to comment. I frequently look out for your comments and could see the board had several new contributors thanks to your steady inputs.
Happy Christmas to all the gang. Well done to all bby investors, the old girl is looking good. James, as main man on this board special good wishes to you - hope life is being kind to you and you've had a great year. A wee mention for you too thistle - hope all is well with you and family. The shark is still swimming around looking for great train excursions.
been trying to arrange short car term insurance for my daughter - it doesn't appear to be possible for students living away from home. Something to be aware of for when your daughter goes off to uni. It costs her about £25/day for public transport + taxi's for each day she has to go to the research lab. (3 times per week for the next several weeks) - Uni can be an expensive place!
had a look at whose holding the stock and there's quite a list of big investors holding - they take a long term approach which is what I'm doing. If I'm wrong then there won't be a holiday in the south seas for me this year. Perhaps it will have to be Scarborough with the dog for a day trip. Now how sad is that!!!lol boohoo
Shares fell more than 20% Tuesday, and at 1030 GMT traded down 13% at 18 pence. The stock has slipped 44% in 2011 to date. Thistle 2011 is a prooving to be a very bad year for hmv. You did well selling up at 25p Analysts were more surprised by the scale of HMV's debt than its trading difficulties. "The shock is that HMV has flagged that year-end net debt will be way higher than expected," Nick Bubb of Arden Partners said. Bubb, who had a GBP70 million year-end net debt forecast, said the much higher figure "firmly removes any lingering hopes of a final dividend."
I see hmv took a hammering today. It looks like they're on there way out - looks can be deceiving but it doesn't look good. I have a few so I'm hoping they're not. If things look foggy thistle, don't worry this year will be a good one.(11 letters) Perhap's it's the big institutions shaking out those reluctant to sell up. I wish!!! Cheers for now.
