They are not going to "buy and hold" as "lenders" are not generally "risk takers" so it would be a convert and sell strategy at this stage of proceedings but would they be able to get the shares away and maintain their discount? No. However after the Appraisal activity and more is known about the commerciality of the project, holding shares becomes far less risky; at that point they may well choose to convert and hold or, convert at what will then be a far higher sp / market cap, sell into a stronger market with fewer shares when they could more easily get them away without destroying their discount.
If by "consolidation" you mean a higher sp and market cap, then yes - if you mean a share consolidation of, say, 10:1 , then no - it makes not a blind bit iof difference.
