A little p.s ... the whole great data great deals mantra Cliff is still attached to still irks me as we had it already on SCIB1 and no deal plus the real truth is pharma do not always wait for the great data if they like your company and you would think your science enough they do pre-clinical deals... again BioNTech being an example there... I do hope redmile are indeed actively addressing this we certainly have been making new signings to that ends.

Wow, quite a reveal of views came from that lol... hasbia, you may have 'emotionally detached' although it sounds in an emotional way if the parachute must come out I hope no hard landing here or feelings:) and I do see where you're coming from with your rationale but surely scancell now is a very different beast in different times and with extra commercial heads than it was on failure to commercialise SCIB1..

Have to say I go with the BS and co's view surely redmile support scancell to be able to run ph1's it seems clear they made a low ball deal on the MaBs unnecessary by putting in more funding to support the further development and we have a modi1 program that so far seems to be heading into the clinic with no partner....

Behind the scenes we have no idea what is going on all we do know is there is interest from potential partners on all fronts... A telling thing in the presentation Cliff said ...was down the lines of redmile not only bring in extra funds they are very well connected in the bio world ... I take that to mean they can indeed help with sealing deals ...
This has to be the year scancell grow to be more commercial and gain partners as really that is how they pretty much all do it BioNtech being a prime example it was not hard for Pfizer to decide to back their mRNA vaccine as they already had a deal with BioNTech as do quite a number of others...

Fair point hasiba... In theory, there is enough in the kitty for the ph1 and indeed pharma partner or further funds or not it is all steam ahead... Certainly, CH referred to the innovate grant as a small amount during the presentation and it is obvious a partner is being sought although Cliff more made out 'after ph1' ... I doubt that we have to be in serious talks already now it may be we have to do the ph1 before anything comes our way but the pressure has to be on the pharma... so makes sense for scancell to plough ahead and if you like force hands or indeed get amazing results ( we hope!) and let them try and out manoeuvre each other to get in then... I don't know but again(unlike some) I'm ready for what comes :)

We got one to tell us SN14 had been chosen as the vaccine candidate...
From Cliff's presentation, it now looks like SN14 has been given the boot and gone for a lay down in the long grass and SN15 has jumped up to the challenge... No RNS yet to tell us that though... I think one is due for a Covidity update though it is all happening rather fast so maybe they have decided not to update until there is solid progress but I suspect if the tests on the batch that Cobra has made are complete and have been successful and that the chosen trial vaccine is now in manufacture then we will get an RNS....

bob I think it was trial 'in weeks' not a couple of weeks... also the manufacture was not for the actual trial vaccine it was more pre-trial manufacturing for I guess testing quality, stability etc .... still that was all a couple of weeks ago so we must be closer to it being the real deal now than then.

Again I'm sceptical it is a genuine article... yet to be proven either way..... what I will say is it doesn't affect my holding plans... for others it may which is maybe why they are more concerned about it.

TF I think it is 'results by early Summer' that is the most ....cheeky!

The presentation is worth viewing especially for newbies... AGM vid too especially Sally and Lindy parts
In cold light of after expectations day the Vox presentation was a decent job again my main criticism was the Q&A which was not Cliffs fault ....I had questions about SCIB2 for instance ... never got round too... best thing to take from it is pharma are on the scene they are interested in 2nd gen vaxs but also we may still be in for some form of deal around the Glycans which was intriguing... my take from that is we have 3 collabs there... I think they are getting some results which mean at least one wants in in some form... scancell refused to do a low ball deal there due to redmile funds coming in... so you would expect any form of deal to either be very juicy or not to be one giving much IP away but beneficial in taking those MaBs into the clinic possibly....

Also .... would again not be surprised to see the new Notts Uni ImmunoBody delivery to come in house..,

Apart from that... this was always going to be spikey now.. a very real chance of 50p with the newsflow going our way and if pharma does show their face well who knows... this can fly and quid is for the taking!...

I always thought Vulpes fund was just Diggles and their mates so not sure they would do such circulars does anyone know how to invest in a vulpes fund? ... anyways the content about covidity and value is all fine and even the timeline could be true but could also be a cheeky little ramp :)

hmm to be fair I've not really noticed scancell get overly effected by bigger market sentiments... of course since we have has a rise on no new news we are vulnerable of a retrace...
ahhh but how she rises when she does... I'm sure a few of us now have bigger core holdings and have made a little on the side too...

I've never really given the Oxford labs much thought so thanks for that do you think it is the beginnings of something expecting to get bigger?.... kinda plays with the whole we would rather grow to be the next BioNTech than be bought out early approach.

It wasn't a non-presentation it was a presentation in the vein of all the others... Interestingly there could still be some form of action with partners on the MaBs despite scancell not going for the low ball deal pre redmile all in.

dg it sounded to me like pharma are on the scene Cliff said the pharmas 'who we all know'... that did not get in on first-gen vaxs are looking to get in on 2nd gen ones... plus he seemed to say it in a good way.... there was no downplaying

A strange way to care for newbies by telling them they have made a mistake to believe in news about this company and that the value of their shares is about to go down because a presentation that revealed nothing but that this is not just a covid play but a is serious little bio with big pharma pipeline filling potential that can use its years of skill and talent to rise to the covid challenge all backed by a serious American investor that can see the value.... ahh well

I agree was just pointing out Covidity is in manufacture it means you can expect progress into trial news there in the coming weeks... hope he stays around for it or comes back or something :) he may also like to view the AGM video it is on youtube... scancell is not a covidity 'just or only' play... I think Cliff sort of made that clear in this presentation just so happens Lindys vaccine making T cell knowledge could make a difference there as well.
