As this is a thread about discussing the science and really we are all (most) amateurs when it comes to that though keen ones!... What I find about scancell is they are proactive they are all about science and when an issue occurs they science it! Lindy was told by a 'vaccine manager' that moditope would never be practically viable unless the dosing size were dealt with and so she went out and found Amplivant....modi 1 has taken a long time from discovery to the clinic (god don't we know it!) now we know a lot of that has been down to funds but it has also been about shoring up the science and creating an actual product that can go into a trial and if successful come out of it as a viable commercial treatment... that has not been easy but it seems through hard work we are there now and just waiting on the green light and all systems go... there is certainly a real need for such treatments.

vaccine responses. While the clinical impact of neutralization resistance remains uncertain,
these results highlight the potential for variants to escape from neutralizing humoral immunity
and emphasize the need to develop broadly protective interventions against the evolving
pandemic. '

BTW what's the betting Lindy is now an expert on Covid viruses and is already thinking up a Covidity V2... possibly targeting more than just spikes and N.... And the notts team put in a proposal for that coming big CEPI funding for future proof covid vaccines ..... Not that I think current Covidity will not be on the radar for CEPI funds already just... with Lindy she could be ahead of the ahead already

Certainly, it is getting support and I agree I think they get their $3.5 billion especially now Biden is in the White House... this is certainly the era to be a maker of vaccines :)....

What comes of this for scancell I don't know... of course, the main thing is Covidity showing itself to be of use and hopefully of great use.. If more money comes before ph1 great of not well we run the ph1 and lose some really strong holders along the way :)

Worth noting the UK .GOV is backing the 100-day vaccine drive....

'The Prime Minister is setting out his ambition today to cut the time to develop new vaccines by two-thirds to 100 days, as he chairs the first G7 leaders’ meeting of the UK’s presidency.

He has asked Sir Patrick Vallance to work with international partners, including the WHO and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), as well as industry and scientific experts to advise the G7 on speeding up the process for developing vaccines, treatments and tests for common pathogens.

The development of a coronavirus vaccine in approximately 300 days was a huge and unprecedented global achievement. By reducing the time to develop new vaccines for emerging diseases even further, we may be able to prevent the catastrophic health, economic and social repercussions seen in this crisis. The 100 day ambition was proposed by CEPI earlier this year.

Through international collaboration to intensify research and development, modernise medical trials and create more innovative vaccine manufacturing and supply chains, we can save lives in future health crises and prevent the next pandemic.'

Ruck I was talking changed to target a specific variant I believe one of CEPIs deals yesterday was to that end

CEPI are being very proactive it's deals yesterday proving that up... not bad place for Scancell to be in but till them red dots!

But could the candidate of SN14 that suddenly (and it does seem sudden considering) being replaced by SN15 indicate 3rd party influence.... just a thought and till we know we don't but strange to have a late stage change as really what difference would it have made to a ph1?.... the structures are already in place to rapidly develop new vaccines against differing strains so it seems strange to me that an RNS'sed chosen candidate rather suddenly gets changed.... unless of course someone asked for it as it shows better potential against a new variant... just a thought...

Yes Ray and surely having those cardboard labs and the many talents of UON to call on must be a compelling factor for the likes of CEPI to give funds to a project like Covidity or whatever proposal to them that Lindy may be working on as a 'universal covid vaccine' ... she will probably on to a v2 already as we know she never sleeps

$388 million CEPI are a serious outfit... and no I'm not saying that is going to happen here but that is what can happen :)

Yeah, a nice bit of CEPI funding I believe helped novovax go from an sp of 7 dollars to near 300 dollars as its vaccine progressed... not bad that not bad at all .... could of course never happen here :)

Quite boom... again what CEPI are asking for is not something specifically Covid 19... though they indeed are backing vaccines for Covid 19... all very interesting and adds to the fun potential... till the next red dots :)

And it could be that scancell put forward a proposal that is not Covidity but comes from that work... and that Covidity gets backed separately.... again I dunno loads can happen but CEPI could well be part of it...
