Krafty I don't think it is a case of Pfzier have dumped BioNTech what seems to have happened is they have used their partnership (which still continues) with their covid vax to learn the mRNA ropes then probably looked at the patent position around it all lipid delivery seems key here ... seen the opportunity and decided 50/50 deals that BioNTech offer are not needed any more as they can throw a shed load of money in gaining top not scientists and build their own mRNA empire... can't really do that with a scancell :)

GSK yeah they find themselves in a tight hole and now a proactive US hedge fund has arrived in their holdership so things cannot remain the same there they are under great pressure....

I think my main point is scancell can offer pharma a very attractive deal around Covidity that could go well beyond it and means that an 'at cost' Covidity does not mean there would be no future profits and indeed huge ones... many pharma have MAbs.... well just think of the potential of a proven through Covidity then we have the possibilities around next-gen SCIBs ... SCIB2 back in the fold... SCIB1 we know can be made into a potentially far superior and far broader targeting product plus we can now do viruses!....
The publicity angel has to attractive too... all of a sudden its not all Astra and Pfizer and Johnson etc

It is grim and we know the figures are probably far worse S America also in a bad way....
Following on from the one-year-old Covidity ... in the beginning, there was talk of problems possibly being able to even find enough people for a ph3 at least in the UK as the first gens are rolled out ... now that might be right for the UK where the first-gen vax success's and roll out has been our one claim to great in this pandemic but I have no doubts there would be no problems running a ph3 in other parts of the world... again would require support that... the CEPI kind maybe...

About GSKs woes and their need to beef up their pipeline with blockbusters....

A Sunday Morning thought.... Covidity likely will need pharma support If it ever gets into trial and through ph1 with flying antibody T cells and safety colours( I expect it to) ... though possibly with big backing from likes of CEPI and UK GOV that may not be the case .... Anyways likely needs a pharma... AB pointed out about 'at cost' ... We know Astra is having a mixed experience with the Oxford jab but I think ultimately it has been good for them if not so far profitable....

Scancell offers a bigger opportunity as if you back Covidity and do a deal with all the science around it and it goes all the way , which it could fast then you get access to an ImmunoBody platform to AvidiMab and a whole new delivery system (which may then be inhouse at scancell) all therapeutics with massive value-adding potential as you would not be for instance selling second-gen SCIB2 'at cost'...... wow the potential for pharma to fill it's pipeline from doing good getting its name all over the press etc.....

Got to be a tempter surely... Hope Cliff and co are selling it as such :)

I think redmile 'invested' with a clear plan after deep due diligence.... some pi 'trade' with a bit of clue after looking at some lines and convince themselves they know best without even bothering to research what it is the share they bought into and sold out are even doing :) or to know the full true potential... but a profit is indeed a profit and markets need liquidity .... the current stable sp above 20p tells me most pi here are holding tight and maybe are more investor inclined towards scancell than 5 minute attention span traders who declare their big sells in a hope of a reaction but then get none lol ..... still all risk/reward here but news expected ......As soon as Lindy gets off her new shiny jetski and back from her Bahamas holiday home and actually turns the lights back on in those cardboard labs where the mice have been running havoc

One thing is for sure scancell is no BOD lifestyle share... RG was good at a bit of spinning but Cliff certainly has not got a ramp in him lol ....

That SCIB1 has certainly had a few birthdays already! ... obviously that it can be stable for so long is a plus but I wish we would not have to keep testing that!.....
I dunno why but with SCIB1 combo with all its saga of actually getting to trial and then not finding a patient, I do sometimes wonder if it will ever get going and now this new style ImmunoBody that is Covidity if it does indeed attract a pharma partner will it be likely they want to trial more next-gen SCIBs meaning SCIB1 combo never happens and err... down the drain it goes... I mean I hope not as that is a proven therapy that despite probably never now being taken on by a pharma now we have next-gen ImmunoBody would still add so much on combo success... not to mention the people in trial who could benefit

Trouble with the 'waiting for' a partner argument is whilst yes very much they are looking for and could do with one or more... however that does not alter the getting a product into trial... which scancell and the team are surely at an advanced stage with... no way do you manufacture those plasmids if you are not and also you are not going to just sit on those to wait for a partner IMHO if we have a trial-ready product we go into trial... the funds for ph1 though tight are there CH said as much though certainly emphasised what the GOV has given so far is 'small' ... actually having a thousands of doses trial-ready product would also I think helo with attracting further funds ... I just don't think you make it then stick in the fridge.... I mean the fridge is already full of SCIB1 already so there isn't even the room :)

Max, you can only initiate a trial once the product is trial-ready so far it is not... I reckon the first part of manufacturing the plasmids is well done the next stage from that is where we are at and that could be 4 weeks or more already so in theory we have to be close or much closer lol.... I'm not panicked this takes time I just think the progress must be close to its conclusion now... a trial-ready product!... then it would be all systems go I see no issue in getting the trial started especially with Notts uni support and involvement and of course the urgent global need.

AB I was never bothered about 'at cost' I seem to remember there were discussions about that at the time of Covidity being announced ... to me scancell would come out of this in an amazing position no matter 'at cost' so long as it works.... ImmunoBody proven and approved Avidimab proven and approved notts delivery too ... scancell a known name... so long as IP is intact and I see no issues there scancell win and win big

Yeah I agree boom I think more what I was getting at is the plasmids should be well manufactured by now lol meaning it is the next stage to making those into a clinical product that is now presumably taking place and that has possibly been the case a month now... again I have no idea how long that takes but would have thought would have all been worked out beforehand in the pre-clinical stages ..... agree too about applying for trial.... think we just get to hear all systems go and then see some Notts student getting the jab on Sky TV:) .... hopefully all with Gov pre orders if successful and a mega supporting partner of somekind

AB not a doomster for that at all I mean the facts are there and no one said scancell could be the only answer I think the point here more is we have a second gen more universal vax and it will be those vaxs that emerge as more of the answer than the first gen ones that if continued with will just become whack a mole updated ones for each variant...
scancell is not the only one working on second gens and I have no doubts our mates BioNTech will be very much working on them too and of course would get much more support than scancell .... scancell have a great opportunity but the clock is ticking the world can't wait for the shaking around of vials until we are 'ready' .... of course, to get the where Covidity already is has taken a great deal of work -much of it done pre covid really .... so lets hope number one it works.... but we only get to know that by trial and surely that can't come soon enough ... any sign of success and it will get fast-tracked and hopefully globally!...The UK very much at the forefront of supporting all potentially viable vaxs at all stages, vaxing and getting vaxs to the entire world.... we ought to be in the best place to have such a vax really!... Like yourself I just want viable vax solutions to this pandemic and if scancell fail to be a part of it so be it...so far we are still in the race be nice to know exactly how far from that starting pistol going off though.

If Plasmids were done from the last Sky report which looks right as they showed them being 'brewed' that was nearly 10 weeks ago so with their 6 weeks service let's say scancell got those 4 weeks ago to do with what they have to before trial...

Again rats I'd have thought they would have worked it all out pre-manufacture... though we know issues can and do arise such as with making modi1 for instance... still would have thought this would not be the case... obviously, Lindy is going to have to be happy to let anything go into the trial so whatever is or has been made must be undergoing rigorous testing all we know is Cobra was making the plasmids many weeks ago and they, in theory, have those done to GMP by 5-6 weeks when using their fast service... so how come no news since?....

Troubles me too violin... as surely the important Cobra work is done?... could it be issues around delivery? getting all the parts together as a viable mass use vax..... the SCIB+AvidiMab+novel peptide delivery.... this will be a different product to produce than SCIB1 was and maybe there are niggles? I dunno... would have thought that all of that would have been sorted out pre manufacture anyways we do know scancell have the talents to science their way through challenges but some form of update would be welcome... it could well be as others have said a whopping amount comes out all at once.... GOV pre orders on trial success attached / partner etc.... the sp is patiently waiting and is a good sign of any positive news and it will explode upwards...obviously can go the other way if problems are being found but up to now... radio silence that did come off the back of a lot of positive activity though so hopefully all systems go and news soon..... The world can't wait for such vaxs to be successful and distributed so if someone wants to put a rocket up Covidity please do :)

Well, 1 year on and yeah apart from it not being trial yet could we have predicted any of where we are?... I mean with the virus and its truly global damage and the amazing success of vaxs but also that we would now be in a very precarious place with this pandemic as the variants emerge...

A worrying one for me that I have thought about and could be happening is this:

The student tested positive for Covid on March 5 and tested positive again on March 25, showing that the new strain may cause a longer infection in younger people. The student’s symptoms resolved by April 2 and a third test on April 9 came back negative.'

Basically, the virus becomes more dangerous to those that we do not call 'vulnerable' if the virus becomes more deadly in the young this is going to get even worse than it already is.
