Honda, those few months early 2011 were a 'Nantucket Sleighride' for sure. Rich one moment; almost a hobo the next! But that ain't nothing compared to what might be when we get an offer. It will literally be the internet version of big game fishing, with us the Marlin being eventually reeled in by some lucky IOC (or more likely Schlumberger)..after a big struggle we will eventually give up & relinquish our sole (OK soul)...for a big heap of cash!

St Mary, I think he was a session player guitarist who worked with all sorts of famous acts. He was certainly a character but he didn't post on LSE much...mainly ii. We used to have such a laugh I had to leave ii to come here and my posting became positively sober and serious. But back in those really early days one needed a sense of humour...gallows humour prevailed when nothing sensible or beleivable about Sound Oil could be posted.............

Gerry, Gerry, Gerry, Gerry, Gerry, Gerry................mymy, he only lives around the corner from me. He's a lovely guy that I christened 'Merry Ordeal'...because of my predictive text! How apt! But he was a Geologist with rocks in his head and he wasn't able to run the business whilst being a scientist. Luckily we had that boardroom coup back in October 2012 (if I remember rightly) & our newly appointed CFO became CEO...and the rest, as they say...is history!

Wagner, yes I know Rampus (Carl). He's a great guy and someone you would want in your corner when the chips are down. Him and Johnywaz (Daz) were on the same bus out to TE7 as me. What a laugh we had. Shame you couldn't make it.

Talking of posters of old who remembers 'Wesley from Wales'...what an adversary he was. I used to have nightmares after exchanging views with him...because I knew in my heart he was right. But circumstances changed and he left, presumably to terrorise some other poor investors elsewhere. Hope he is OK though, wherever he is. The same goes for my old pal Entropic...wherever he is?

Wagner, cheers. Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end...thank God & James Parsons they did! What a rollercoaster ride. Just a few months after I first invested in 2010 I found myself £100 K in profit...not long after I was almost wiped out and couldn't bring myself to tell wifey...but one day I confessed and she said oh well, you better hang tight and make it back. I had thought divorce was looming but luckily she was very understanding...phew. 10 years later and how things change. We are on the verge of a possible life changing event!

Shaun, he's actually a very good friend of mine (as is Ponkey) & a long standing Sound investor who used to be much respected when he posted on this forum. He came out with me on the TE7 visit & used to regularly attend AGMs with me - back in the earlies when there were literally just half a dozen or so private investor attendees. His posts were very level headed & often skeptical (proved right all along about Nervesa) & Sidi. It is a real pity he no longer posts.

I take it we wont be seeing you there Ponks - not in the market for a second hand car from Arfur!

The much anticipated 'informal chat over a pint' will be one of the last Sound Events...but there will most probably be an AGM in June, followed by an EGM when an offer is tabled, followed by (maybe) a 'Liquidity Event Party'. The latter would probably happen because James would want to sell his 'wash, rinse & repeat' scheme to a captive, cash rich Audience plied with booze and full of zest & enthusiasm for the next Parsons bonanza! But it isn't too late to issue my standard DYOR warning to anyone still without shares - see below:

Keeptofacts, very funny but you may have a point. Wild horses wouldn't keep me away. It will be great to meet up with my SRIG colleagues and everyone else, including the Sound staffers.

Where the confusion lay was the wording of the RNS, coupled with the fact we used to be in the business of 'well appraisal' (TE7 was an appraisal well). But James says we are not in that business so one cannot argue with that. In any case most here just want a sale sometime this year so a maximum one more well would be a quicker route to market. It has been often stated they want to maximise shareholder value so you have to trust that is what they are doing. I am more than happy with the current state of affairs.

Exploration, that is why I asked James about the seeming need for an appraisal well but he replied that we are not in the business of well appraisal. But as your well made point suggests, it would seem the obvious thing to do.

Zcars, we of course bow to your superior insight & will try to stop jumping to conclusions.................but it was clearly mentioned that there would have to be one to lower the uncertainty of the volumetrics, however it was definitely not clearly stated that we would not be performing one! It seemed self-evident at the time that we would want to nail down the gas volumes to a more definite figure but seeming not now. To me that is more interesting as it implies we will be relying much more on the project inventory, as shown on the scientific research carried out to date & that we won't necessarily be needing to physically prove the very large numbers. We could be closer than we think to an opening offer...but I'm not really a gambling man (he says tongue-in-cheek with thousands laid out on one AIM company) so I'm still on the fence regarding when but could we be sold by this Summer.................

Thanks for posting Ponks, Shaun & Gozo. The plot thickens here at Sound..will we, won't we drill TE11! I'm on the fence!

In the RNS it was mentioned that an 'appraisal' well might be needed to determine volume quantities at TE10 - but would that constitute a third well or would that be an extra well? Was this the reason for demobilizing the rig? Can you shed any further light? Also, what is the type of rock we are drilling that will require 'heavy duty perforating guns' that have to come from the States...where they are possibly used to frac shale?

"The heavy guns are just a precautionary step Kirk, nothing specific to our geology.

All potentially large discoveries need appraisal. My model is this isn’t our business - we are a high risk / high reward explorer and when we hit gas we sell it on to others to appraise and develop. So the appraisal well doesn’t link to our exploration programme".

Very interesting when they said in the RNS that an appraisal well would be needed to lessen the volume range uncertainty but seemingly it won't be us that drills it! James did once say that most of our volume uplift would come from the seismic so I guess once they have proved the presence of a hydrocarbon system we are good for an LE!

Mickey, did it slip your mind that I sold a load at 89p to pay my mortgage off...my shares are very low average so your concern regarding me is touching but misplaced! If this doesn't come off it just means I wont be retiring this year........
