Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Trellis, many thanks for your kind offer but I have all the videos. The 'Shard' was never published online so you must have obtained a copy from some concerned participant...Lord knows who!
If you are happy I paid my mortgage off & made money so am I! But, it had nothing to do with anyone elses judgement or imparted knowledge...just my intuitive instinct & the need to pay off my mortgage. There is no smoking gun; no conspiracy theory...the truth is mundane & frankly quite boring: I made money in my trading account but lost some on my SIPP! I'm not a big winner at the casino counting cards to game the system, I'm just an ordinary Joe just trying to make a buck or two...that's all & end of story...........
Yours as always etc & so on...

Trellis, Sundance, I'm sorry you feel that way but I was just posting over the years how I personally saw it. Anyhow, I do still look back with nostalgic pride on my investment in Sound & especially the Moroccan trips & that Shard event, the video of which was never published : what a shame as it turned out to be my finest hour! However, this is the AIM & all who 'invest' in junior stocks should know it is, at the end of the day, a gamble. No one should put money into this listing with their eyes shut & without thorough research & they certainly should not invest money they can't afford to lose....but then you know all that...
Kind regards...Crude
Dark Energy, thanks for the warning but I feel Trellis has far too much of a workload these days to extoll the virtues of wine, women & song on a daily basis.
I was also at that 'Shard meeting'...it was my pleasure to accept Jame's invitation to do a short talk from an investor's perspective. I well remember the excitement & the get-together in Borough Market afterward: Saleem & his cigars & my good friend 'Appiammer' - probably bemoaning his downtrodden but beloved West Ham! I look back on the footage of that 'bun-fight' with some pride...pity we had some bad luck & setbacks, but that's the O&G for you! I'm still invested & still ever hopeful.
Cheers all...Crude
Watergate, you see too many conspiracies...I need protection from what precisely? It is surely not a crime to make a profit & pay your mortgage off, that's what we are all here for! I even posted my intentions whilst pushing the sell button: can't be more transparent then that! I had exactly the same information you guys had, it was all a matter of public record. Besides, my mortgage was nearly due & the SP had drifted from £1 down to 89p...so like any good trader I took profits before it descended further. Rather than trying to criminalise me surely I need congratulating!!
Cheers, Crude
Cheers Jack. I'm getting into old age (58) but I don't feel it! My mental age seems years younger & physically, everything works...
Anyway, I'm off for a 'Rishie meal deal', courtesy of our amazing Chancelor, Mr Sunak. He's certainly proved the right man in the right job & I congratulate him for all his hard work in these troubled times.
Oily, actually James said to me over a year ago he would like to write a book on Sound Oil/Energy & would I like to help him...naturally I said of course I would................
Anyway, it's my birthday today so you can all wish me a happy one (duck, take cover..."infamy, imfamy, they've all got it in for me")................
Eric, the story of Enron is fascinating. I have my good friend 'Lagerkhan' (Pete) to thank for recommending the most excellent book, 'The Smartest Guys in the Room - the Story of Enron'. I also went on to see the stage play twice! James Parsons could only dream about having a CFO like Andy Fastow - if he (JP) was bent but I am convinced he wasn't. Skilling & Fastow took corporate fraud to a whole new level where not only investors were stung - but employees lost jobs & their shares proved worthless! I can't recommend the book too highly - it certainly opened my eyes. We all should remember the 'three 8s' account that Nick Leeson created to hide losses that his traders had amounted - but Enron CFO created so-called 'SPEs', or 'Special Purpose Entities' - known at Enron as 'Raptor' accounts. These accounts hid the fact that Enron did not in fact make any money. Their share price was artificially inflated by hiding their losses by use of the SPEs. Nosy, pain-in-the-arse journalists asking too many uncomfortable questions brought the whole house-of-cards crashing down. Skilling & Fastow were imprisoned; Chairman Kenneth Lay died of a heart attack & Auditors auditors Arthur Anderson were dissolved due to incompetence at best, downright fraud at worst! The story makes compelling reading...

Dave, would you believe me if I said I haven't been keeping up with current events & whatever accusations being levelled against James Parsons? James is a friend of mine & has been for some time now & maybe I see him in a different perspective than most. What I saw was someone who tried to build an O&G company & he almost succeeded...Maybe too much enthusiasm with some bad luck is all it takes to take someone down...

Well I guess this is the part when I say I have never knowingly met 'Exploration'....I've only ever read his posts.
Anyway, I hope all are well & prospering. I'm still here & I still haven't had a final top-up...but I have some spare so will take advantage of any sudden dips.
And like you gasbag, I'm still here! I'm just about to check my Premium Bonds as I have just had a 'congratulations you're a winner' email...probably just another £25! Still, if it's anymore I'll let you know...
Cheers, Crude
Thanks Jack, I will do. But fingers crossed one of my close colleagues tests negative...I wont know until after this weekend.
Right now I am concerned for me & especially for my wife, who is probably more vulnerable than me. This could go on for months & even years & so there is now a new paradigm, or a new normal that could threaten to drive us all apart...even though we are closer than ever in the 'unreal world' of the internet...a net which has become a lifeline for many! I'm just grateful I have a beautiful garden in the SouthDowns National Park I can relax in when returning from a hospital shift but I sympathise with anyone who doesn't have access to a garden, who maybe live in a high rise. I see colleagues at the hospital who are paler than Dracula!
Audible, you have shown a complete lack of understanding of the situation. We are not offering a "nutrient restricted diet". We are just consolidating our many choices down to what we & our dieticians think feasible, bearing in mind we may have a reduced catering ability. It makes sense to concentrate our efforts on a core menu. I hope that is clear to you? I'm only talking about my Hospital but it may apply in many others soon. Simplification in every aspect of life is surely a good thing in the light of current circumstances...
Just popped into my department at the hospital I work at (I am using up vacation days) & we have now gone into C19 menu mode. This means we offer a much reduced choice of food for our patients. This makes sense as we can simplify the cooking process in readiness for any shortages of staff. I also wanted to advise my team not to congregate in small offices. We had a situation at my hospital where Costa Coffee were giving away free coffee...causing a build up of folk wanting free coffee. Our Cheif Executive walked through the main entrance, saw what was going on and closed the whole thing down.
I took advantage of Sainsburie's offer to admit essential workers only at 07:30; flashed my ID & picked up one or two essentials...namely anti-bacterial soap, which I haven't been able to find. Oddly enough, coffee filters & amazingly toilet tissue & even pasta! It was quite odd passing through the queue (safely) whilst flashing my NHS ID.
I heard earlier that even 30 year olds in good health are dying so nobody is safe from this disease.
Wash your hands, keep your distance & dont pick your nose!!
Cheers & stay safe......Crude
Well, I guess Libraries are the first public sector - maybe one of the only public services - that can shut down. Libraries in Sussex are now closed. But how many other Public Departments could do likewise? Maybe town planners & architects? I can't imagine 'Trading Standards' will have much to do in this present economically depressed climate. Museums, the BBC ...the list could go on but it will never include our amazing NHS! No matter who you are & what you do for the NHS - you are a vital worker & a part of a chain that keeps Britain safe! We cannot just close shop like some other Public Sector departments - we HAVE to be on watch; at work & on call 24-7!
