ES, we are a completely different animal now and the environment for raising money on AIM is almost apocalyptic. Just look at how many company’s are delisting and going private. People make decisions based on the current moment in time, hindsight app for CEOs would be a popular download. GLA

The only RNS I'm realistically hoping for right now is the sale of DX, as long as we are not giving it away for the sake of a few months more wait. No chance of any decent deal imo until at lease phase 1b data release. Unless of course we have a secret admirer who has already seen and heard enough. Nice thought but I don't think BP roll like that.

The timing of the two news releases was an absolute shocker, they should both have been 7am imo. HEMO certainly don't gain anything from it but somebody certainly made a pretty penny this morning. Just accept it or don't bother investing in small caps. Did anybody really think there wasn't going to be more fund raising and we'd head straight to 5p and then get the cap out.

The hardest part for any small listed bio is funding these days. Nobody wants to pay more than the last raise even if things have progressed substantially. If the CEO can bring in actual LTIs then he has to bend over and accept some conditions. If that means financial stability and not having billions of shares sold into any rise then it's no bad thing in the long run.

The MC won't change and it's not as if we are overvalued for the state of play. Most investors have been stung with share consolidations over the years so there's bound to be nerves but the first positive trial update and we go ballistic if the funds are already in place. GLA

Codejunkie, I have misunderstood or are you saying you know individuals with over 3% of the company who have not disclosed it to the company?

The BOD have a duty to inform shareholders about any takeover bid. They will normally issue a recommendation whether to accept or reject the offer.

As soon as the bidding company can confirm it has the financial means to complete the deal it has to tell the market, but the target company can disclose an approach as soon as it gets one if it chooses.

If our BOD refuses the offer for whatever reason, the bidder could go hostile by starting to buy shares on the open market. However they would need over 50% for this to work so you can imagine our share price would go stratospheric! There are also many defence options like ‘stock repurchase‘ or ‘poison pill’ and with Avacta not having any particularly significant shareholders (over 3%) then I don’t think the bidder would succeed.

Personally I think the premium a BP would have to offer to be successful here would be acceptable by nearly everybody (apart from the odd crazy one).

If I was as excited as CC about the pipeline I certainly wouldn't want BP interested right now. At the moment she's in total control of the important decisions and won't need any more cash until we have a much fuller data set to hammer out a deal with. Whether that be a TO or a cash injection for a NAS listing. The share price will act accordingly in due course.
