Going to hold off buying till tomorrow now to see how things pan out today. This drop is starting to look overdone in this short time frame.

The only risk in waiting till say Monday, is the price should already start to rise in anticipation of the update Tuesday Morning. I think today or better still tomorrow afternoon may be the time to jump in and take the risk of it falling further up till Monday. Of course we could all be wrong and the update freaks the market and the price ends up at 75-80….does not bear thinking about!

I bet Springowl are praying for a T/O right now....the'y are already 15M in the red on their investment from just a few months back.

True, Spain winning was a killer for all the bookies last time. I've held off jumping in at 90 as mentioned before, the 85 albus just said is not out of the question in the current market. Really want to get back in but there is a little voice in my head saying hold on all the time, will kick myself if it does rise.

I sent a quick email to my contact at bwin.party asking how the comparison to 888 may be viewed when they do their update next week, and asked how things are going to be turned around and soon to help investor confidence. This is my reply: (all public knowledge no issue I hope posting it for you guys) We are always compared with the other sector companies but remember that our geographic footprint could not be more different – last year for example 888 paid just over €10m in local gaming taxes while we paid over €80m (the difference being greater than 888’s entire EBITDA). The fact of the matter is that regulation and taxes are inevitable – there will be no escape. We are further ahead than most other companies in making this painful transition – for 888 of course things will change dramatically next year when they start to pay tax in the UK that accounts for some 40% of their business. Delivering growth from unregulated markets may seem like a smart strategy…right up until the government shuts you down and then you not only lose the revenue but you have already spent the marketing money. Our shift from ‘volume to value’ was about 1. Acknowledging that the risk in certain unregulated markets of advertising and acquiring new players was not worth the risk (viz Greece) and so we ceased acquisition marketing in those countries 2. Increased focus on existing customers from these markets in order to give them a better, dedicated service thereby sustaining their revenue for as long as possible 3. Shift our marketing focus to regulated and taxed markets as these will be sustainable and not exposed to regulatory shock On product innovations yes we are making progress and there is more to come.

Interesting info on Amaya Mallta - thanks I think investors may be pulling funds from here to invest in 888...can't blame them either.

Malta & Albus, I think both of you are correct. In the short term there is money to be made on spikes from results etc. but in the medium term Albus’s fears are warranted unless something dramatic happens re. Springowl. I’m sure any moves will run the price up quickly but only for a short time no doubt. My view is to hold my reduced holding for the time being and add if the price drops to 90 in prep of some sort of bounce that seems likely to happen, then unload prior to the Amaya float which won’t happen too soon as they won’t finalise the purchase till the end of September at the earliest. One shoe has dropped, just waiting for the other one now!

I must admit the thought has crossed my mind in the past that the current management have been pushing the share price down deliberately to take it private again. You have to ask yourself can a BOD really be this bad? Have Springowl rained on their parade? I don’t trust Telfon and Co. at all.

Hi Malta, As you say they only get the first part of the world cup in the H1 figures so it won’t tell the whole story, but I do think we should be in OK shape compared to 2013 H1 as this was the time things really started to go wrong. Will be holding prior to these results for sure, after all at this price it shouldn’t take too much to spring it up in the short term at least.

The MM’s have played dirty tricks today. I wonder how many PI’s jumped on the rise only to see it stepped back down in the afternoon. Fortunately I’ve been burnt in the past so didn’t fall for it. If this remains a pattern it’s possible to day trade this now for a while 94-99.

Interesting that they were so quick to release this RNS, normally it takes days for them to respond. The question is where did this rumour stem from and is the saying no smoke without fire true in this case? Was it a Calvin Ayre special, although bear in mind he posted the Amaya deal rumour 3 weeks before it became public knowledge. Really at a loss on what to do with this share, feels more like roulette at the moment.

Mind you, at 99p that's now a buy?

Just looking at some of the sells to go through today I can see a lot of pain for some investors, 15K, 30K and even a 100K share sale. These are last resort sells for what must be massive loses, does beg the question how far can this go? I said 90p as a jumping back in point last week but I do wonder now. Nice one mate. I think with the results to date all the bookies are doing Okay this time, Spain killed them last time being such heavy favorites. As you say the question is what will Bwin's take be? They are low key in the UK but much bigger in mainland Europe. Guess we'll find out in a few months time - Let’s hope Costa Rica win the whole thing…LOL

Posted yesterday: I still think it would be not the worst idea for Boyd and or MGM to take a look at us to expand their operations outside of the states. My reasoning for saying this is their main competitor ‘Caesars’ with all their massive debt are looking to make money anyway they can be it selling casinos (high overheads) and expanding online (low overheads) it’s common knowledge that 888’s deal to supply software is a short term deal and it strikes me that as they already have a relationship with Amaya that we may see PokerStars being tied in with them in the near future which would leave Boyd/MGM in the cold so to speak. I can’t comment on what profit we see from Kalxia, but it’s not much, can’t be bothered to look and find out.

Albus, it’s all a bit of mess isn’t it. Let’s hope the gorilla does us all a favour and rips Teflons arms off, and beats Weigold’s brains in with them. The Ongame sale was of the fire variety as an asset surplus to requirements and worth less each day, the problem was we got the player migration completely wrong and lost them all instead of keeping them in house(another piece of great work from the management) Perhaps Kalxia is different as it would add value to our bottom line without adversely affecting our day to day operational costs, as I guess we only save a small part of our payment processing costs compared to all the other fees we pay to the other operators. I think your right about the non regulated markets, that ship has sailed and sunk I think. At the end of the day something has to give and soon to get investor confidence back even a little and I’m sure Mr. Ader will ensure that happens as I bet he is ready to don a gorilla suit right now and go nuts in the board room himself.

Although I have to say an 800lb Gorilla would be more intimidating than the 100lb one I previously mentioned.
