It gives an indication as to how much cash is currently being generated by existing gold producers that will be looking for a home

Also, the expectation is that with gold price, streaming deals and uptake in Ethiopia Kefi will retain closer to the 85%

Its going to be good to see analysts now stating to recommend Kefi as a buy over the coming weeks :O)

I disagree with your interpretation that 2 of 10 as low odds.

Quite the opposite in fact. I view that as 10 projects sold, and the best 2 projects were sold during pre production / construction.

Personally, I would categorize Kefi's Tulu Kapi as one of, if not the best gold opportunity on the planet at the moment.

An acquirer could literally buy Kefi Group, not have to put anything else in now that debt is sorted, and recover their cost whilst fully paying back the debt from the first 2 years of production, just from Tulu Kapi net cash flow

You are right, its clear to all that Tulu Kapi is going to make a phenomenal amount of money when gold starts pouring and the share price will by x10 from here.

It's precisely for this reason that I anticipate a takeover bid sooner rather than later.

I'd imagine that anything over 3p they'd have to put to shareholders to vote upon. I think 5p would be rejected, 6p borderline and 7p would probably get approval.

At the moment we are predominantly PI owned. Over the next 24 months we will shift to much larger institutional holders whos focus will be dividends rather than share price appreciation.

It doesn't need to be a distressed asset. it simply needs to be what the majority of shareholders would accept. I don't think 5p is enough. But I think 7p would do it.

The further we progress towards production and the more institutions that build positions, the more expensive and harder it will be for an acquirer.

Plus, with the debt financing now in place, Tulu Kapi is simple, ready made project that an acquirer can easily recover their takeover costs on, make a profit and then there is the Saudi and other Ethiopia opportunity

There's going to be a lot of eyes on Kefi within the mining world now.

Companies benefiting from the current gold price and sitting on bags of cash, looking to sure up their global resource.

I think we will see an opportunistic bid of 5p pre Christmas and will probably get sold for circa 7p Q1 / Q2 next year

Tulu Kapi is now massively de-risked, is straightforward in construction, operation and we have an experienced contractor engaged.

It does look like there was somebody who was over leveraged here and needed to sell whatever the price yesterday.

It will be a tough watch for them as we now bounce back and re-rate to a short term 3-4p level, and then onwards to 10 - 20p at production.

so what would an acquirer get now :

from tulu kapi :

- net cash flow of circa $2.7 - $3.5bn

- npv of $2 - $2.7bn (12 - 15p per share)

- locked down $470m of the finance plan with the remaining $60m over subscribed

- has engaged an experienced mining contractor

- procurement of processing plant is underway

- road, power & community resettlement is underway

wider ethiopia :

- first mover status with existing government and banking relationships

- konso critical metals exploration license

- recover surrounding license areas potential

- project pipeline & preferred bidder status

in saudi :

- gmco, a business that becomes self sustaining with multiple projects with circa $5m more cash (kefi share)

- han**** jv potential value

- project pipeline & preferred bidder

- kefi ability to bid for work stand alone (very hard for companies to break into saudi now)

if we add it all together we are looking at 15 - 20p per share with further tremendous upside

i think we will see some opportunistic take over offers sooner rather than later as tulu kapi is good to go with funding, infrastructure & contractor.

The share price just needs to do its thing for the rest of today and the calmer heads come back tomorrow.

Locking in the debt financing now makes us an extremely tasty takeover target.

Nothing was going to happen whilst it was being arranged, now it's in place we are primed for a Major to step in and take it from here

Its the norm for banks to provide short term funding facilities at this stage of deals.

The company says they are fine.
