RE: Update on Formal Sale Process RNS 14th January18 Jan 2021 07:39
Eurasia never put themselves up for sale, they were approached by VTB & CITIC and asked if they would entertain the idea of a sale, they said yes if the price is right. They don’t have to sell the can activate the Sinosteel contract and go at it themselves which a previous RNS stated would take a relatively short period of time , my guess a couple of years.
Eurasia is in no way a distressed seller and are firmly in the driving seat.
With regards to other transaction structures let’s say hypothetically they sell WK & MT desperately, this should mean more money for shareholders. If you had 2 cars for sale for £10,000 each and someone offered you £10,000 for one of them but £19,000 for both, you’d probably take the £19,000. Less money but and easier deal than selling them separate. I.e. if EUA are selling their assets individually I’d expect a higher price for them.
Either way the BOD’s interests are aligned with ours as the hold around 25% of shares and they’ve repeated in numerous RNS their priority is to maximise shareholder value
