They don't need to and the Zubairs already have 2 board members steering the Aminex BOD along their way. Would be interested to see the minutes from some of those meetings regarding the decision not to drill NT-3 at the time.

So to be clear Curious and of course no problem with people correctly stating numbers, although your closing sentence is real Crystal ball type stuff and out of character with the stated objective of your post.

The drill has 3 primary targets.

R1/R2 is appraisal with little risk

The Mengo is appraisal and has a COS of 60% or better than even odds if you are that way inclined

The Djeno is exploration with a 25% COS and significantly worse than even odds but a much higher potential prize.

Happy with that in terms of Oil and Gas drilling myself.

4 targets in total 3 planned with high COS appraisal to exploration, the appeal is in the mix instead of a one hit duster or Gusher.

Who knows, certainly the Zubairs like the asset having just bought 50% from Aminex for $40 million despite already owning just under 30% of Aminex and certainly seem committed to bring it into production with a spend up to $105 million.

The gas at current sales price is worth $ billions over the expected life time of the wells.
