@£1.04 you can B&B c.19230 shares into your ISA.
If you wait until they reach £2.08 you can only B&B 9615 .

A blessing in the fact that you have actually made a taxable profit - not something we are seeing on here at the the moment.
Sorry for any confusion.

Just a gentle reminder that the Tax Free Allowance on Dividends falls again this week to £500 - a £4.5k fall since 2016. As shares held in an ISA are tax free it MAY be prudent to ensure your allowance has been used for this year too.
Paying Tax on Dividends is of course a blessing as it means you have made a profit - but a tax free profit is a double blessing.

Regarding your Election Forecast.
If the Conservatives wished to win the forthcoming Election and I am not sure they do, they should take note of the 1 in 4 satisfaction survey in The NHS this week.
The failed attempt to buy votes with the second 2% cut in NI and proposed third one should be quickly reversed and the money pumped into our wonderful Health Service.
A bit of compassion to an under funded over stretched Health Service would in my very humble opinion start a turn around in the Conservative Parties fortunes and prospects.
Regarding BT I am anticipating a visible upturn when our second quarters figures are published in September and the new Lady at the Helm has had chance to show her intended direction.
Good Luck all and Happy Easter.
…….Mondays …………….. £1.05 and falling.
It is known that the majority of the property was sold and leased back.
Now as the majority of exchanges will no longer needed they are just handed back with no more rent - rates etc to pay.
Whilst there is some loss of revenue from incoming rents from OLO’s Mobile exchanged base roof top Mobile masts etc the benefit to BT from no rent and rates is very significant indeed.
Being a child born in the 1950’s I visited the Post Office Tower as a Girl and have never thought of it being called anything else - went to various sub-board meetings there and always put ‘meeting Post Office Tower ‘ on my whereabouts.
Generations since will know it only as the BT Tower and will always do so - no matter who buys it.
I do wonder though how much BT will save in annual rates payments on this building to add to the £275m windfall.
Joins the major holders with 6%+.
When will these big players get together and finally do the deed ??
Patience may be a virtue but it is a tad boring .

I cut my outlay down by switching to Plusnet for Broadband - you get landline free. £22.90 a month.
Switched mobile to Lebara 12gb unlimited calls and texts £6.90 a month.
Saving me from what was approaching £60 a month.
A lot of our collective BT prospects to the path to recovery are in the hands of Chancellor Hunt and what he can do with his little bit of manoeuvring with tax allowances Corperate and Personal.
BT is a very generous employer and hopefully the Unions will realise they must not kill this Golden Goose. With NI reductions already creating nearly a 2% pay rise any future tax handback should be seen as an opportunity to ask for a lower than inflation pay demand.
Cutting excessive overtime rates or eliminating overtime working could help BT become more solvent too.
The very expensive investment in fibre should soon start to pay back as long as OFCOM keeps its promise to allow us a fair return on this investment.
Thoughts please.
Coral.
When Person X starts to build a position in a company such as BT they fix their lowest future bidding point - if the price rises the bidding point rises with each future acquisition in the Company. When they reach 30% they must make a formal bid -
If person X is serious they make a decent premium to the current price - firstly to seek approval from the Board who will approve the take over and secondly to ward off any counter bid.
If the minimum bidding price is a decent 50% premium to the current price …………….
So that is where we are today ???
Sensible replies welcomed

Q3 results due 1sr Feb. Could not try to second guess if the price will rise or fall.
Odd one out round @Januspilot
Rose, Vennels, Blanc
Vennels the other two are types of wine 🍷.
Fusion98 - a realistic target and hopefully a short term to achieve your goal.
Nice to see people actually trading this stock rather than holding and moaning about losses.
Now we have a ‘Sister’ taking control from Feb 1st let’s hope she brings a new broom with her.
Good luck on your trading.
Coral.
Covering the story todays FT includes the paragraph;-
Government officials said they would be given some leeway given the difficulties in taking out essential parts of a network while still running services.
Woo Hoo the dividend is YOURS - paid out on February 2nd (Groundhog Day).
Do what you like with it ……. Because it is YOURS.
Looking forward to a prosperous 2024 and sending best wishes to you all.
After giving clues to my identity the other week several former colleagues who I managed have got in touch and we are meeting up (Christmas Magic). One chap confided when I was appointed his L3 he was in horror at a Senior Female Manager - prospect ! He continued he was soon won over !
Good Luck and Good Fortune to you all - and as I have always advised - think for Yourself.
Happy 2024 - Coral.
SOM. As a Manager I was not a member of the CWU.
I am in favour of a bid as I am sure a new set of owners would be able to turn the Company around in a way before my retirement anyway we were not - as we were lumbered with the costly 801 and 802 employees who cost a fortune and were reluctant to change to become productive (because they never had been).
With DT - Altice and now a Saudi interest I am sure a bid will not be too far away - even if the Government intervenes for BT/EE times they are a changing.
Just woke up from the most amazing dream.
I was living in a World where you were free to take your dividend as cash and do whatever you liked with it OR you could re-invest it even in the same stock !!
You could do either of these things with risk of comment or criticism because in this world it was nobody else’s business .
What a fabulous fantasy.
I would be happy to see the share price at £1.25 AFTER the XD .
My final top up from dividends will take place in February when my target number of shares will be achieved - and all in my ISA. Have some non ISA BT shares to sell when the price is right and under the taxable threshold of course.
Looking forward to my next target share choosing in September from my holding in BT - at the moment looking towards B&M on a dip……
Merry Festive Season to you All and especially those who think that as I was an Engineer before rising to be a Level Three Manager I am a man ! - Bless you all - Coral (happily retired).
