You can’t blame the Govt for IM :)…. The problem was a significant lack of due diligence / need / planning / strategic and operational planning from the company. Remember, JW only found out that the ML was not in place after ( and I quote ) “Rummaging around”. It’s been used as a vehicle to generate cash. Period.

100% behind the shipyard. My challenge is how do they achieve what’s required. New leadership changes nothing unless that comes with massive capital investment underpinned by a forecast and programme of works that compliments the ability for that to happen and even if it did, you’re talking years before it’s operational.

I’m staggered that nobody is calling out they can’t see this or afraid to in case they’re seen as being “Negative”…. It’s called reality.

DAERA agree they have to be held to account on 10 points, without challenge either. ML won’t send the SP anywhere, didn’t when it was granted. What sends the SP up is a solid plan, underpinned by a robust and “secured” operational and commercial model. You’ll not get that from JW. Wake up.

Stokey, if you’re only here as an investor in the shipyards. Given the fact that they were loss making ( and still are ) with the previous owners ( mainly Belfast) for the last 60 years or so. Without astronomical investment to bring them into this century to ensure they’re positioned to actually tender for anything significant they’ll always be limited to small works. Period. These do not and will not underpin the success and longevity of the company commercially, that’s a fact. You’ve all seen the loans, raises etc. They’re surviving on debt, not profit margins.

When there is far cheaper and less risky options for major works contracts worldwide currently where do you see this going?

It’s not the storage that’s the issue is it. It’s the method used in the creation of them with associated risks and impacts along with is there and actual need to do so which is being challenged. DoE said themselves that it’s not required for Gas security of supply, despite JW saying it was. Transitioning it to Hydrogen was just a brain fart reaction from JW.

There’s plenty of mothballed storage around the UK that would be better suited to use both from a scale and economic perspective.

The very simple issue here is that shareholders don’t see the bigger picture and are blinkered by the fact that you’re all emotionally and financially attached to the Gas Storage project. Not because it’s needed, because you’re invested. Simples.

If we think people are going to invest in Fossil fuel storage that have the added bonus of impacting the environment that aren’t needed, think again.

Easement and permissions are the same thing. You can’t lay a pipe across someone’s land without permissions, wayleave agreements and everything else that goes with it. Simple’s. One thing you all seem to have overlooked is the utter BS that’s been spouted about IM so far and absolutely nobody here has done any of their own DD on this as I’m sure you’ll uncover some absolute misses. If you have then you’re to hesitant to admit the truth and facts.

Right, but what actually is being “Sold”? You can’t sell a dream, there’s nothing to sell apart from the small section of land. The licence alone holds little to no value unless it’s going to be used, which is highly unlikely… and the outfall pipe spans the entire width of the island, how’s that happening?…has all the “Private”.. land been purchased?… no. Wonder who owns some of that critical enabler?… :)
