@MaryBr190 I couldn’t let your comment go. You cannot “gift” Northern Ireland to Ireland anymore than you can gift Cumbria to England. Geographically, demographically and now economically Ireland is a single entity. Brexit has simply hastened Irish political reunification and it is ironic, that the son of Indian parents helps “return” rather than “gifts” the territory if you like. What this all has to do with a gold mining company in Egypt? Yes it is interesting, oh wait another former English colony…..

Hi Steve72. I get the jist of what you are saying. But I just don’t buy this theory that is frequently put out there regarding shorting shares to manipulate the share price. Spread betting firms buy shares as insurance against heavy shorting.The market is very quick to turn to its efficiency principle. I am invested in Kier and will remain so and buy every share that I am offered on the special offer. My concern with my investment here was always the debt. The management team here have been brilliant and fantastic to the shareholders!!!! I am holding and buying but can anyone tell me how the offer will be made through Barclays stockbrokers for it is with them where my shares rest ( share ISA)?
