Mali is approximately the size and a not dissimilar shape to France and Spain combined. The Wagner mercenaries and the conflict are in "Northern France" - The Bougouni mine is in "Granada".
That being said, I suspect that some of the proceeds from the mine will end up in Wagner pockets, but it is not going to come about by direct extortion of one by the other.
I can only speak for myself, but I have held for over 2 years without selling or adding. I have always been content to wait - and will wait probably another year or two before selling any. For me, it is not about how long it is taking but the misleading communications and unrealistic "promises".
If - as has been said on here - Bernard´s hands are tied and he is obliged to tell us what the consultants have told him, I don´t have the industry knowledge to contradict that. But I struggle to grasp how foreign actors can force an LSE-listed company to knowingly mislead its shareholders. If it is going to take 3, 4, 5 months just say so.
Laverda... With it being left so late, what I am NOT expecting is a bog-standard, kick-the-can-down-the-road, RNS. I would now expect at least an expectation of what is left to do and how long it is realistically expected to take. Anything else would be negligent and disrespectful IMO. If they answer your "how does the process work?" questions, even better.
Good grief! It does feel a bit like edging! You have to think that by leaving the news this late it really should be positive.
Is it really binary? Do we have to get an RNS tomorrow? What does no RNS mean? Is that even possible?
AAAAAARGH!
LOL
Probably settles the debate about which will breach 1p first, though!
Thanks to Lav and Daz for the background on the long stop dates - happy to NOT blame BA if the date is missed. Have always been happy to wait, anyway!
OK... "happy"... I will definitely be relieved to see an RNS, either way
