Coronavirus – product testing group Novacyt shares surge again

PARIS, Feb 10 (Reuters) – Shares in biotech company Novacyt , which is launching a coronavirus test, surged on Monday to extend previous big gains made this year on investor hopes it could win regulatory approval for its coronavirus test product.

Novacyt shares were up around 14% in early session trading in Paris. The stock has risen by around 300% so far in 2020.

Last week, Novacyt said it had applied for emergency approval from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) as it races to roll out a product that tests for the coronavirus, which has killed more than 900 people.

“Many doctors believe that deaths and infections from the current epidemic are undercounted in China because testing facilities are under severe strain.”

Watching2, not antidote but novacyst has the test to identify the virus, the only company that has it so far. The vaccine is going to take until 2021 at least as per the top British scientists.

CrudeTrader, if PHE has come out with their own test they would have announced it considering the seriousness of the issue and on a global scale, lol. PHE is rolling out the tests and we know they’ve been talking to Novacyst. If you want to get in cheap, you won’t lol. We should expect 3/4 rns within the next 2/3 weeks I think: FDA approval, EU approval, contract to supply China and some from the 30 countries that “requested quotations” .

lockyer, you keep going on and on about the competition. Let me answer that since you lack sense of the most basic logic. NCYT is the first company that announced they have the test, kit and the equipment for test the virus. In light of the such global emergency, if you were a health chief would WAIT for the subsequent testing treatment from other companies NOT yet proven or grab that of NCYT. If you did that not only you will show your incompetence and be sacked on the spot and also be lynched the next day by the public. This is death and life matter and on a global scale. Plus the world economy is being affected, hence China GDP has been materially reduced as a result which will have a knock effect on the rest of the world- aren’t you following stockmarkets reports, yet purport to be an investor?

Plus you have the top British scientists meeting only yesterday saying the vaccine won’t be found until at least until 2021. So in the meantime time you will have to try to contain it and that can only be done through testing. Add the the scale of the problem, there will be enough for several companies but NCYT has 1st mover advantage. It would seem you haven’t been reading the press posted below; or rather you are very transparent. Please give it up you’re making yourself a fool.

Vaccines won’t be found until at least 2021. Therefore the only way to contain it is testing and more testing:

The £4 cost of the test isn’t what the money cnyt is saying it will be making. That’s to highlight to health providers how cheap and competitive their test is. But the real money for cnyt is the kit that’s needed to administer the test, which cost just under £700. For god sake a biotech company having spent £million in R&D isn’t selling stuff for £4 a piece....that’s McDonald’s for unhealthy eating a piece, lol.

Now that we have had ncyt releasing the fact they are in discussion with the nhs and have already supplied some hospitals for validation, this will be all over the media inc local media this weekend. There will be a stampede for the shares 1st thing Monday morning.

The rns surely points to more news to come: currently in discussions with the FDA....have strong demand .....requests for quotations from 30 countries....currently in discussions with NHS hospitals trusts (after supplying some for validation purposes) and Public Health England ...in processing of planning to launch a CE-Mark approved nCoV test on 17 February......last Exposition in Dubai... So at least 3/4 rns in the following weeks me thinks.
