I think this is the first concrete evidence, in the CC target region, of an MM actually naming their own Comms solution in operation.
IMO it's further proof that CC will be required in niche areas, outside of the volume arena, if they can land a contract.

The 116,000 smart meter rollout in Pattaya City on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast is piloting the technology ahead of a wider national rollout. Itron have their own Comms solution here, and it appears to have gone rather well. I think the big MM's now have their Comms offers in place for the volume market in most nations. This will be why JC has lowered to 7.5%, which he will know is way over the top I believe.

India Smart Utility Week, you can't whack a good trade show. What it has to do with CC winning any contracts I have no idea, but some try that desperate line here most years.

Hi ITT. Never say never, but for me I don't think they have the will or appetite. It could be there is not enough faith either.
I think an MBO would have happened already if it was going to. 5 years ago this was a dead cert according to most.

Right now there is nothing to buy. CC are not active enough to be on any radar, unless they are taken by a possibly smaller competitor who fancy their chances. That would be an identical scenario to the Connode purchase. It's often said that no business is being done, and CC are waiting in line for the big push in India. SEW last year generated revenue of $ 220million. CC announced a GLOBAL alliance with them 9 months ago, SEW have not needed their services. Like I say, right now this company is pretty worthless, and I can't see a takeout until they prove they are needed in some sort of volume.

IF any of Milan's words are factual, it just confirms India won't be placing volume for 6 months at least. It also confirms CC won't have the ability to service an order level of any size without yet another fund raise. Given India's first target of 100 million Smart by Dec next year it is pathetic on both fronts IMO.

Huge dilution incoming. It was never not going to happen, just a case of when.
Let's see how far that promised £5m goes.

So, to be clear, Genus, manufacture scope of 10 Million units pa in India, will have CC inside every meter just incase needed?
This from a company that is struggling to source it's ramped up monthly production of about 30,000 units. Do you have any idea what you are talking about?

IMO you've nailed it jake. And after all this time, anyone looking to play in the Smart Meter market anywhere in the world, will have developed a module that is compatible with any Meter. The UK contract, if CC are ever needed, will use exactly the same modules as anywhere else.

Charlie, please read my posts, you can go back a long way. I do not disrespect views of posters who leave information that have some basis of truth, and can verify if asked. We all know the one poster who is here every day, leaves garbage every hour, and has never been able to substantiate a word. That I find 'exceedingly boring' but will not stop challenging the individual so you need to get used to it....or filter. Whatever way, I wouldn't believe a word from him, even though it clearly makes you feel good.

That's the level. To Shoehorn that into the statement "CC can meet these standards and being embedded in the main manufacturers" is an out and out lie. Come on tonyj, prove us wrong.
