Why would you think the results will ever be made public? The bar will be a continuos moving target. Forget the 99.5% rubbish, if someone comes in cheap enough the SLA will be reduced to accommodate. They've already removed the 'Made in India' requisite that was in place for no time at all. Even CC have worked that one out. The Chinese are now off the naughty list, and will have opened an office in India to tick that box. As momentum picks up, costs and quality reduce. To be fair, this was JC's predicted India 8 years ago.

Given the CC solution is to enable Discom's to collect the cash, it's ironic that CC themselves suffer the same way.

Not sure why some are getting so hooked on this. MM's will have been producing perfectly good meters for a long time now. Those that can't will not be in business anyway. So, they will present the meters with their own Comms offer and use an external company for Comms if their in house tech isn't up to full SLA in certain conditions. We know Indore has been a working reference point, God we've heard it enough on here, so the whole process is a farce. India are clearly just looking for more competition, which in turn will drive down their costs further. Reading some of the reports, you simply need to open an office in India to be classed an Indian supplier.

If you want to go deeper, this 'new' empanelment process is nothing but. There's plenty of evidence showing companies trying to go through this hoop in 2019 and before. It appears to be used like a Police Stinger when things are moving a bit too fast.

This has been covered. Deadline for submission for 1st phase applications was April 30th. It's also been confirmed the application validity period is 180 days from then. Tail end of approval process back in March was being viewed as the end of April. So, this will be a 2023 1st phase end process.
