500 sites, I think we're going to be a key player in this final testing pillar. Everything looks like it's lining up for Nova, but you never know til you know I guess.
Seems it's purely US companies they're focusing on. 650 applications and they've picked maybe half a dozen there to fund, hoping they'll come good.
@ JRDC
All quiet on that front. Billions of £ worth of testing tenders, and virtually none of it awarded yet. Just keep your eye on bidstats for that.
We're very Anglocentric here on the forum, but there's a big EU tender website:
https://simap.ted.europa.eu/web/simap/covid-related-tenders
For all we know NCYT is applying for a ton of tenders all over the EU. We know they applied as far away as Zimbabwe and won, so no doubt they're applying all over the continent here as well.
Yeah all covid stocks looking good again, though it's dangerous to stick GDR in there, I think it looks more like a dead cat bounce than uptrending.
NCYT is the only one that hasn't had big gaps up. AVCT has big gap up days, went from 97p to 144p in a space of a couple of days mid June. It's been a really slow and consistent walk up, which to me would sound like an institutional investor buying in. We don't get TR1's for Novacyt and we don't have any idea who owns Novacyt now either. Any day there's any hype for the stock it's quickly brought down and traded sideways. I haven't seen a stock on AIM anything like it. Try to find any other stock on AIM that's been walked up slowly and steadily like this. Basically 5% a week it's allowed to do.
And we have Voleon now, with their short increasing daily, now at 0.75%. I think that will keep growing until a certain condition is met. They must be betting that vaccines are going to kill testing sentiment, and Novacyt's volume is low, which makes it weak right now.
I think they'll close it only if momentum builds and volume increases making it hard for them to scare off investors or initiate another bear raid. Next couple of weeks will be pivotal for Novacyt I reckon, all eyes on sales and contracts heading towards 2021.
We're now up 30% from the lowest close at 215p back on 15th June, and that's without any big gap ups or hype. We've also had shorts suppressing the share price and some properly dodgy moves by the MM, like today we're actually blue but they've gamed the pice to make it look either red, or white on your daily charts.
August is going to be good. Didn't really get much covid-19 tenders on the bidstats website this week, only one or two small testing related tenders really early on. Large tenders must be much more competitive, lobbyists and all that, and there's still the airport row over whether to go ahead with the Collinson scheme or not.
Super interesting times ahead, but two days over 300p this week should be cause for celebration, been a hard couple of months for NCYT, but it's looking solid again!
@ MS
Totally yep. Though they usually say, 'we will update the market in due course'. He's been generous to crab there and thrown him a bone I think. Not 100% of course, but just saying, if I wanted to give you a subtle tip, that's exactly what I'd have said.
@ Brent
He said it in plain writing.
If you're feeling angsty, go for a run or whatever, but picking little arguments or trying to one-up posters on the forum isn't helping you or anyone else.
You have posters here complaining about the board being clogged up with little comments, but you clog up the board worse by complaining about those comments you dislike. At least those posters are giving the board a little life. Do what I do, and if a board or comments aren't to your taste, just avoid, filter or change your attitude.
Whining isn't helping anyone.
@ Crabtree
Nice one!
There's often a subtle tip in there and he gave us one! Novacyt has been in a position to update us on sales for over two months now. OEM agreements and government tenders can't be revealed until they're allowed though, and the clue is in the 'as soon as we are able'.
Big worldwide sales update coming once UK tender news is out. I'd bet on it.
'we cannot specifically say if a sales update is forthcoming for obvious reasons, but we will inform the market AS SOON AS WE ARE ABLE TO DO SO on any new developments'
Yeah they'll sell 1000 now, for past few mins. Past quarter hour or more before they wouldn't sell you more than couple hundred quid worth. Think now they still won't sell 3000 shares. Try and see.
Yeah like 20 mins now, best I can get is a buy for 200 shares or less. Think just now they'd sell 1000 shares, but 5k no chance. Worst I've seen it.
Can anyone get a quote?
Haha, sorry Mandy, my bad!
They'll send you a link the Half Yearly update I bet. Mandy might even still be on holiday but always worth a poke once in a while!
Seems they hold just as much of the virus as adults do after all:
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/30/health/coronavirus-children.html
Really young kids seem to be much worse, can hold as much as 100 times the viral load in upper respiratory tract compared to adults.
No, it's not nonsense, it's blatant manipulation. And I bet that 6000 share buy at UT was Berenberg themselves. How can you even deny stock opening up while looking like it's in the red all day isn't manipulated.
It's a simple old school MM trick to disguise buying pressure and here it is in 2020, with retailers like you even denying it in plain sight. No wonder they get away with this BS.
It could be, they're definitely looking at options but the language used doesn't make it sound like they'r min a hurry. They're so cagey when it comes to discussing tests. q16 and q36 rapid saliva tests are hands down the best care home option now so..
I can't even get a quote for half a minute for 1000 shares..
Alan we get that, we understand the reason why. But they've left the price like this to disguise buying pressure.
It's market manipulation. This stock has been traded oddly for too long now.
Radio 4 takeaways
DOH says 'alternative tests' will be provided as soon as possible.
Families can't visit care homes for weeks.
Matt Han**** nothing to say about the Care Home testing, total melon
Randox's contract must be void surely after that CE mark nonsense. Will tune into R4, thanks for the heads up.
