I think they won't be ready for production until later in the year.
Having said that i think covid is going to drag on well into 2022.

I am quite pleased overall with the businesses.

I think Lucyd are doing well, but wouldn't say they are the cheapest on the market. There are plenty of cheap versions around. Lucyd are more rid range.

TopCatz, I think you are right. It depends on the numbers raised by the IPO stake. These dilutions are very damaging to sentiment and so it would be great if this was the last one.

TopCatz, I was thinking about what you were saying about a special dividend after the Belluscura IPO and would much prefer they kept the cash to offset any future fundraising, given the massive discounts they seem to have to give in these placings.

I think Guident is the most difficult company for shareholders to really understand. The technology is quite technical and it is in a sector which doesn't really exist yet. I guess it is a leap of faith in Harald Braun and the management team, who have a good track record, of creating a profitable enterprise.
It is a bit of a black box but the partnering with some really good companies in H2 2020 was really positive as well as winning the startup competition.

Yes, the new regulations could be a big boost.

A lot of the other businesses, they talk a lot about the addressable market (i.e. smart eyewear) but there is nothing to suggest they will be the big winners in those markets. In the microsalt case though it seems there isn't a strong competitor for the market so they could really be a big winner in that space.

I am generally pleased with the progress of the 4 companies. The one which i find most perplexing is the salt. I would have thought it would immediately have taken wide adoption, and i am confused why it hasn't. I know that sometimes these big brands can take a long time to adjust but i am wondering what they are considering. What is the downside to lower sodium content?
I tend to think if one of them adopts microsalt then they all would. That would be such a big breakthrough if it comes.

In my experience listings take quite a bit of time. Probably at least 6 months out?

The sentiment on this board seems to swing wildly from month to month, based on nothing much fundamentally changing.

Without any actual news people massively overreact to things which aren't really new and aren't really news.

My take on where we are is as follows:

Belluscura: About expected in terms of the FDA approval process. Would expect approval by March or maybe April.

Solarius: A bit disappointed. Not really sure why it hasn't made more progress. I am impressed by the product and hope that when the COVID crisis subsides salt reduction will become more of a focus. Perhaps as well companies are not looking to make big changes during the time of crisis and upheaval. At least the distribution deals are good and the 80% reduction in sodium product should make it even more attractive.

Lucyd: Pleasantly surprised. This was always my worst of the companies, but i am actually beginning to buy into the new prodoct. Sales look good and it is getting some traction.

Guidant: Very pleased with the progress in 2020. However, i think the market won't really be there until 2022/23. So not really expecting any massive breakthroughs until then.

We should post it on reddit. Tell them the establishment don't want TEK to succeed and are holding down the SP!

I don't you buy a stock like this because you believe in the medium/long term growth potential of the company. Saying that it was a good or bad investment after a couple of weeks, during which no news, one way or the other, was released seems odd. Short term dipping in and out of these shares is generally a way to bleed a lot of money due to the high transaction costs.

Yes, the spread varies quite substantially during the day. It is already a lot better than when it was 4p a share. Back then spread was 20%.
