I work for a big 4 firm and currently in secondment in one of the worlds biggest energy firms,specifically in their trading commodities house.

We are at present buying russian oil and gas but currently winding down our purchases (prior to the end of year deadline) and trying to dispose of the billions of dollars worth of assets but unable to due to vlads decree.

The rns was a whole lot of nothing.....

I'll keep holding but certainly won't add any more.

The yanks must be disappointed they bought in a few weeks ago after the cnn report .

They've set a strong momentum to slide back to the high 4s.

Speculation to say the least.

I'm sure some folks have seen but it seems the u.s will reforming mining and make permitting much easier from 10 years to 2 3 years. I can see the U.S becoming a ev battery super power just like they did for oil and gas with fracking. Never underestimate the prowess of the u.s.

Thankfully there is significantly less risk of western sanctions on Poly at present, but the real risk is Russian crooks having their way with the assets like the flash sales of post soviet union. Anything is possible in mother Russia comrade Ray.

Take it easy at the pub tonight. Ask your misses to make a few of those legendary club sandwiches for our Sunday golf.

Hopefully the assets won't be disposed but if they are, be sure it will be on the cheap like everything else in Russia being sold off at present. Its a buyers market. Its no different when we have recessions, you can buy things on the cheap.

Anyone give any feedback on the cores, is anything visible?

Be sure debt will be ballooning and absolutely no way we will receive a dividend imo for now which is sensible. Hoping they announce they've found new markets for gold and are selling it easily with very little discount if any!

Either the Rus assets are sold at a decent price (unlikely) or they drag this out as long as they can and announce we're actually keeping them.

Sinking like a gypsy in water. China in 2 major lock downs again, tin price (nearly all commodities) in freefall, recession coming for Europe at a minimum, inflation very high and just the beginning, and don't even get started get on energy prices - gas up 10x since this time last year. Just my imo but a market crash is weeks/months away.

With all the doom and gloom above I believe if you go long ATM, its a safe bet.
