@Easi -The abstention says it all, we don't agree, nor disagree otherwise we're not taking sides. Same as Africa, most of Latin America and Asia. Happy to announce publically its bad, not nothing official. That's politics for you.
Only two countries I'm aware of which recognise Luhansk and Donetsk - NK and Syria. Not exactly heavy weights in the political arena or arena. It has no benefit to any country to be out of norm and reconise those two regions.
@Bigblue - when you say war is over by mid October, what do you mean exactly? ie full Russian withdrawal, back to the status quo of pre full blown conflict of march 2022. I see the most likely scenario is some withdrawal to strong defensive positions. Yes the use less russian army has been pushed out of Kharkiv, but now they get to concentrate more forces thus making further counterattacks harder. The Rus forces are still stretched imo.
There no voices left in Europe of we should negotiate asap as Ukraine's don't have the manpower, the will or the skill to fight. Its firmly now, give them whatever they need to break the Russians, they've proven themselves, or more accurately the Russians have shown themselves to be incompetent. The soviet command structure says it all to me in which nearly every reasonably important decision is sent to the top (literally top ie generals) for instruction and then for it to come back down to the chain taking a long time. This suits commanders fine as they pass liability down the chain if errors occur,
