It's worth rereading this, as a guide to what has already been promised and achieved and those things that are quite imminent, not least decisions on Imutex. More indications of timescale tonight no doubt, but the year end is fast approaching - sale or Nasdaq?

There is no way that this will not happen. imho the hVivo challenge study will become the gold standard for multiple comparative trials - a fast-tracked vaccine is literally the only way we have of getting out of this crisis before it drags the whole economy under. As winter approaches it will become ever clearer that OO offers a unique and perfect test platform to see what if anything will work. I would guess at least a dozen trials in the spring, and many more ongoing once the principle is established. At which point those famous "fundamentals" look rather different. Using standard valuation models for this company - or any other that offers part of the solution to the biggest health and economic crisis the world has faced since the war - makes no sense at all. digitalman - once the protocol is agreed and deemed safe for challenge trials there is no limit to the capacity for what will be a unique service. Each trial is worth 8-10m, upwards of 20 potential covid vaccines are approaching phase 3. No reason why all of them would not want to use this opportunity. And obviously this is only one of many revenue streams of OO. The longer term implications of a contract with UK govt while the country is in a grip of the worst health crisis in living memory should not be underestimated. As Patrick Vallance suggests here, this is neither a one-off disease, nor susceptible to a quick fix. Vaccine trials may well become a very significant priority over the coming years, not just the coming weeks. The govt seal of approval of OO as its preferred provider provides potentially exponential opportunity imvho. Virology is the only growth industry in town for the foreseeable future.

maybe... though I don't think the US/Australian expansion 'news' has been priced in by any means. Or the fact that the govt/NHS seems prepared to stump up for clinical space as per the FinnCap note. The Deals for the Covid challenge protocols across the world could be huge imho. I think once America wakes up there will be significant upward pressure, let's see.

The quote about planning for American and Australian clinics on Yahoo speaks of serious ambition. Imagine the attention that an Hvivo challenge trial in the States will receive, focal point of the race for a vaccine. There are plenty of game changers here, but that expansion is added to the list. It is not a completely wild exaggeration to suggest that this company's trials could be key in saving the world and its economy. Going forward, it is hard to imagine that much bigger corporations will not be at least weighing up takeover bids for that unique capacity.

The data archive that Hvivo possesses is much more comprehensive than you suggest BBD. As I understand it, from Cf's comments, it involves sixty or seventy years of data from human challenge trials and flu camps, the biggest dataset of its kind in the world, and exactly the kind of historical virus-focussed dataset that the wearables market is hungry for. Apple made the initial approach to OO, it seems. I wouldn't underestimate that market's insatiable desire for an 'edge'.

The govt is desperate for some positive news on vaccines, to change the current omnishambles narrative, seems like hVivo will provide it. Onwards and upwards

The thing about the challenge trial news is that when (and, I guess, still if) the protocol is approved with UK govt it is hard to imagine a serious vaccine project that would not want to take advantage of a facility that will likely remain unique n the world. There will be twenty vaccine candidates at or approaching phase 3 by the beginning of the year. I think the question for OO is can they deliver multiple trials in short order, from what CF has been saying I think that is very much the impetus currently. So we are effectively waiting on not one contract announcement, but a whole new urgently needed global business. Hard to imagine that alone will not wake the markets up to this opportunity as the news gets ever more dire in the coming weeks.

The world might well be in a pretty desperate place in 6 months time, desperate for a cure to the virus and desperate for a way out of such crises in the future. OO looks increasingly like part of the solution to that desperation, so hard to put a price on it imho. Hope doesn’t come cheap, but it feels to me like it is a FTSE250 company in waiting
