Only needed because they all were too busy looking after their own votes at the time of the original vote on the Europe referendum and didn't see the bigger picture. I'm sure when they voted to give the actual choice to the public there was no way they thought these people would turn down all the good side the EU ie lots of cheap labour to look after their gardens, build their extensions and wait on them hand and foot. what they didn't realise is that is not the reality for most people and real or imagined it drove a wedge between the political class, London and the rest of the UK. Probably also thought that shutting down debate on immigration by labelling anybody who discussed it a racist had been a successful tactic for the previous ten years-ish so why wouldn't it work this time.
Sorry cant fathom Scotland as it is a contradiction in terms, wants independence to become a union ??
I guess its still an independent choice

The rise of Trump and the right leaning politics in the west IMHO can be laid at the political establishment thinking they had the public in their pocket and all sorted to conform.
on the bright side it has made politics really interesting over the last 3 years :)

Just to clarify "the project which does not exist" are you saying we were lied to and BEM didn't submit an application for Kallak ?
other than that I agree with Pocko just because the government have slopey shoulders pre election, this is just another task on the Civil servants desk neither good nor bad just another case amongst millions of cases/applications of all sorts and sizes a never ending pile to move from one in-tray to an out- tray

..............Damn I'm not even British Suzy lol :) There are lies, damn lies and statistics true on both sides if a politician tells you you should vote for this because its in your best interests than you really need to look very hard at what they say is your best interest or what is in it for them , sad but true The EU needs fundamental reform unfortunately the people with the power don't want that as it doesn't fit with their agenda/perks and they just demand more money while telling everyone else to tighten their belts. Enough you've got me going now ;) to change the subject I'm a little bit with LLBJ on this , my prediction- positive decision late Jan 2019. Chuteless

Morning Suzy You'll probably find that the people "who've never had it so good "voted to remain unfortunately not everybody is in that clique hence the examples below. My thoughts on the subject for what its worth. If it was so good prior to the referendum how come all these politicians weren't screaming for us to fully join the EU including the euro? Remain never tried to sell the EU as anything positive only it would be really bad and scary to leave. Chuteless

I dont fully disagree with you on the application however there is no reason that the scoping study could not be used to back up our next comments about the comments about the CAB comments. Next stage after that is all comments about the comments about the CAB comments will be sent to the CAB to make a comment about the comments about the coments on the CAB comment. after that who konws!
