Gkb47, the original readout of June was delayed due to the recruitment being delayed, which was due to turnaround times in testing. That can be explained (if not spelt out) by the amendments to the trial application/approval.

Nolupus, biotech savvy or not, your insistence that the COPD results were on Richards desk a couple of weeks back was in contradiction to the facts.

For someone who has spent a lot of time on this board telling people to stick to the facts, that was quite hypocritical.

There was a lot of talk that we would receive COPD results end of June and I think that was a fair assumption based on 3-4 weeks standard turnaround. However it's always important to temper any speculation on these boards with what has actually been RNS'd.

This could be a long month waiting on news as RM did say in the end of June interview that it would be 'around this time next month' for results. If COPD drops before that then its a different story but if you don't wanna read about MM's and II's between now and news dropping then it may be best to switch off, cause that's all we can talk about.

I have personally found the story of these distressed II's interesting and it has allowed me to average down significantly whilst also building my holding. It will be interesting to see the SP movements if we receive a TR1 with Acacia clearing (before news).

I should add, they are still both assumptions. The only factual timeline we know on the COPD readout is "summer". That means they could drop anytime or even after COVID results. Anything else is supposition but they are definitely not late so it's not something that raises concern in my eyes.

Chrishar, the CPOD results are not late. RM stated they would be released over the summer. There was an assumption made here that it would take the industry standard 3-4 weeks to unblind them from when they told us they had permission to do so, at the end of May.

The assumption that they will be released alongside (and to support) COVID hospital results actually has more basis because they got permission, "on the grounds that data from the 109 COPD patients with confirmed viral infection generates useful safety, biomarker and potentially efficacy data to support ongoing trials of SNG001 in COVID-19 patients."

Now that the yanks have bought all the Veklury in the world, the EU will be quickly looking for the next treatment to recommend.

I think this news is significant as it de-risks the route to the American market and FDA EUA approval if SNG can show that SNG001 works.

The hospital trial was supposed to take around 8 weeks and i'm pretty sure that came from the company but i think it was in reference to how long the trial would take, not the unblinding/readout etc. When NIHR upgraded the trial to urgent we all made the (pretty fair) assumption that the 8 weeks would be improved on.

When the amendment of the hospital trial was made around testing it became apparent that the recruitment was going slower then expected as they couldn't get patients diagnosed quickly enough. I've always taken that as a good thing because their discipline on that would result in patients getting the treatment earlier. As the testing got better the rate of recruitment then improved.

Yea I don't think the current market sentiment affects the potential here, just the price that we get to before results are announced. I'm not looking to de-risk beforehand so happy enough with that.

The markets in general can't seem to decide whether we're going into recovery or further into recession so we could go either way i guess. If results are positive it won't matter one iota.

I think after the initial hype of 'covid' stocks a few months ago, where sentiment and the promise of tests/treatments caused huge inflation in share prices, the markets seem to be a little more wary now and will only react when results (claims) are validated by the agencies.

Asked on whether they would be selling to the public he said,"this is a government initiative". Cagey.

Good summary Rich! If I remember correctly, corticosteroid usage had a huge negative effect during the failed phase 3 Traumakine trial as well. Hopefully lessons have been learned from that.

I understand it was the knowledge gained during the asthma trials that prompted SNG to focus on COPD. I also think (also from memory) they had a breakthrough in viral testing around that time which allowed them to better determine the entry criteria.
