The answer to your question (what are the odds of a peer review being passed) lies in how much faith you put in the scientists who have made the claims.

If you believe in the integrity of the scientists and the data they have gathered then those odds will be very high.

A course of Remdesivir is $2-3000. A vial is anywhere between $3-500 dollars. There was an article posted here today where that said that generic licenced remdesivir in India was being sold for $56 a dose. Even of that licencee were making $5-10 profit on that it would be worth a fortune to them.

In any case, John's point still stands; the demand will mean this drug could be worth billions to any licencee(s). RM has a responsibility to shareholders too and the language he's already been using in interviews would suggest he's not going to let this go cheap.

Its not as simple as taking off the shelf interferon Beta 1A and administering it. SNG001 is a formulation that has been adjusted so it is PH neutral (unlike the IV INF which is acidic). Therefore cheap knock offs, although a risk, are a little more difficult than you would think.

In any case, SNG hold the European and US patents and if the drug is as good as it appears, that'll be enough for me.

The patent covers inhaled interferon B1A. The other studies have involved different types of interferon (e.g Alpha 2B). It is generally thought that Interferon Beta is better at combating coronavirus.

As a broad antiviral, SNG001 uses are huge. If you watch the webinar that was released last Monday, listen to professor Holgate during the Q&A getting excited about its uses against all sorts of viruses (e.g Influenza etc). If the COPD data is good it should demonstrate this and raise the bar significantly.

Yep the rights are now wholly owned by SNG and the interim COPD analysis alongside the covid hospital results will inform the next steps (Regulatory and Commercially).

I think there'll be more than one licencee. Maybe 1 per region. If this drug works like they say it does, the demand will be too great for 1 pharma. Having said that, the fee for a worldwide exclusive licence would probably bring tears.

Hi Graking, If you as a company secretary were to receive an FDA approval on a drug that has seen major focus in worldwide press at say, 1430pm UK time. Would you risk leaving it till 7am the next day?
