Lewbo I think you're probably right as I don't know why SEE would have to wait 9 months to confirm a win with a Tier 1. t's just that presentation below on p43 referring to Driver State Monitoring that has me scratching my head.

We saw at the end of July from that Veoneer presentation that they had secured a 2nd DMS award in 2019 from an unnamed customer. Yet SM can't announce it would seem and it's this kind of thing that I find puzzling.
'Fed up with them, he turned the camera so it could not capture his face and was recorded doing so, it is alleged.'

Yes, I guess some people will try and trick the system. I don't know how easy it is to stop this and maybe it's more difficult now with Guardian gen 2, but who knows. I recall reading about Croydon Tram and when Guardian was first introduced some drivers responded by wearing ski goggles!

The guy had an accident after moving the video camera and his colleague died. The tech had previously recorded him closing his eyes for 1.5 seconds on 25 occasions. Pretty sure it's SM.

From 10th Aug. But any sign of our bdms is proving elusive and I'm wondering if the deal back in June was with a different company. However, at contract value of Aus $2.2 I'm assuming it was with one of the larger players in the autonomous space.

SM look well placed for a nice share in Europe. VW Group and PSA are v important in terms of market share and hopefully SM can get both!

No significant market in auto DMS until 2021 and any slow down concerns may have passed by then. To my eyes, figures for new car registrations in Europe since 2007 looks pretty positive even in years where there has been decline

I suppose the question at the back of my mind is how high the take up will be for the Xilinx chip option. We've 2 x contract awads so far I think for the chip? If it becomes significant then both Xilinx and Softbank (as owners of ARM) surely have a strategic interest as the Xilinx FPGA is utilising an ARM processor. I'm assuming they won't want Intel or similar to steal their lunch.
A buyout is perhaps the only way we'll get any value here. Forty Four trades today and then I look at satfline with 300 + trades and I'm scratching my head. Yes, we've not been covered in small compnay sharewatch but I look at carp like that and all the crappy gambling companies that they tip and I'm totally bemused. Rant over.
I personally don't want to buy gold & silver, despite picking up Mike Maloney's book on precious metals a few years ago. Investing legend Waren Buffet doesn't like gold, he prefers silver and I found this article quite interesting

Inside the cabin, apart from the surround view, there are driver monitoring systems in development that fall under the ADAS umbrella. “Driver monitoring will include a driver-facing camera — a single camera mounted in the instrument cluster or in the rearview mirror on the top, at a distance of 70 to 100 centimeters, Bardia said. “Also inside the cabin, some companies are going beyond the single camera and are mounting three cameras or more inside the car because they want to monitor how many people are sitting in the car. Who’s sitting in the second row? Who’s sitting in the third row? Some designs include as many as 5 cameras inside the cabin to monitor the size, weight and gender of the passengers so airbags can be deployed more safely.”
Pretty good. Auto revenue at higher end of AUD $200 million is a bit higher that I thought and that's great. Cash burn however is still higher than is desirable. I'll feel more comfortable when the CAT type deal that Paul alluded to is completed.
Great RNS this morning - well done SM. Also, if SM keep on winning auto RFQs - as I think they will - what chance of the company being independent come 2021? Surely a chip maker is going to do an Alex8 and get the fishing rod out?
Smarteye DMS was in the Audi A8 I believe for Traffic Jam Assist. Yet I posted back in Feb that for some reason VW Group opted against using this same tech in the pending 2019 VW Passat, which is a level 2 car capable of travelling at motorway speeds. There is instead a requirement for the driver to keep their hands on the steering wheel.

Why no DMS here? It's not like SEYE haven't been working with VW for ages.
I have referred to the ISO stuff before and that I personally couldn't establish whether Smarteye were ISO 26262 accredited or not, only that both SM and SEYE are recruiting staff with knowledge of this same standard.
